The Beyerdynamic DT48 Arrives...
Its definetely more unique to see the wire come from the magnet itself! Then again it could be more common than expected. Btw are you still using the original rubber pads on them?- Bingturong

Now another Napolex! More common than the CTX but far less information Napolex SV-2 Pads are glued on Inside is a ring of wool, but not the mineral wool I usually see, its more like polyester Rear of the driver Behind the driver is a layer of folder cloth, and then a very, very thin layer...- Bingturong

Oh heck how did I miss those! I pretty much have a collection of DT-48s including a prototype! Yeap! I got a CTX-3 and opened that up, far more simpler construction with just a foam ring. They put a lot of actual effort into the CTX-1 mk II. Shame it doesnt sound that good- Bingturong

For me, the M9X, I find it has a very, old fashioned but pleasant sound signature. Fantastically detailed too but I just think the soundstage is so... Flat and two dimensional- Bingturong

Looks very similar to my M9X! I have pics of it somewhere in this thread. I think the diaphragm in my one has a slightly greyish tint which would probably be that ceramic coating. I wonder how the two compare to each other, I remember being very disappointed with the lack of a soundstage. I...- Bingturong

Also does anyone have any advice to rotate the drivers on the SA5000 off? No matter how much or which direction, the drivers just won't budge or twist SA3000 for comparison Unfortunately the baffles are different but other than that and the extra layer of black felt on the SA5000, same driver- Bingturong

The ATH-W1000Z, I think this was the first time I was actually taken back by a construction of a headphone Standard audio-technica construction so far, the generous foam ring actually make them very comfy The rarely seen other side of the wooden cups. Pretty much agreed, a similar thing goes for the original Lambda. The original Lambda is just, so well done that everything seems to be tuned perfectly. It's a shame the glue is gone in mine... Still squeals when first charged on pro bias, as much as I got the dust out as I could. Amazing...- Bingturong

It's definitely something they do, especially for the wooden models but I also imagine there would be some tuning at the very least. These despite all the good stuff they do, really do sound cavernous and almost echoey which for me pretty much ruins them. It's a big shame because the mids and...- Bingturong

Audio-Technica, again you dissapoint with your lack of dampening... ATH-A100Ti At first glass the driver looks dissapointing, especially for how much these sold for and that a lot of audio-technica's even then had metal fron baffles. But the entire baffle plate isn't plastic, it's fibreglass...- Bingturong

How do they compare to the lambda signature? Looking at the construction, this is entirely Pioneer made. The driver design with the support is actually more in common with Koss than Stax designs. Stax did A LOT of OEMs and not just the Micro Seiki or SR-3 OEMs but this doesn't have a single...- Bingturong
