Hifiman Ananda
I just sent back the XS after doing a couple week shootout against my Ananda. I know there has been a lot of Ananda trashing around here in favor of the XS since it was released, so I just wanted to add another voice to the opposing opinion. You see m, I'm a mids maniac. And the only reason I...- bzippy

Comment by 'bzippy' on listing 'Sennheiser HD800S for Hifiman Arya Stealth (v.3)'
I am looking to upgrade my Ananda but need to trade it (unless someone makes me a cash offer soon), and my ideal trade is the 800S. If you're open to the idea of the the Ananda plus cash let me know. But please feel free to ignore this since you didn't ask for the Ananda.- bzippy

Used very gently for 2 years but I have 4 others that I use on a regular basis, so these do not have 2 years of use (they are broken-in, but 99.99% life left). Trade interests: Open back, full-size, with overall neutral & balanced tonality, strong mids/vocals, not bright or harsh or bassy, and...- bzippy

Headphone Stand Picture Thread
I haven't been on here in a long while because I am really quite satisfied with all my gear, believe it or not. But I am resurrecting this old thread to show what I did this weekend: I finally decided to treat my babies with the respect they deserve (rather than keeping them scattered all over...- bzippy

iFi iDSD Micro DSD512 / PCM768 DAC and Headphone Amp. Impressions, Reviews and Comments.
I can't get above 12:00 with any of my headphones, even in Eco (all full size over ear). So is it better, in theory, to dwell below 12:00 or to switch on IEMatch in order to get up into the 12:00-3:00 range?- bzippy

iFi iDSD Micro DSD512 / PCM768 DAC and Headphone Amp. Impressions, Reviews and Comments.
I ran across this very useful post while researching whether it's theoretically better to run my BL in Eco with volume knob at 11:00-12;00 or Normal mode with volume knob closer to 9:00 (which is on the brink of channel imbalance). This post clears that up, thank you! There was another post by...- bzippy

Meze 99 Classics Discussion + Impressions Thread
Yes T6, for both the outside and inside of headband (6 screws per side, 12 total from what i see). Just checked with my 99 Classics. For you and anyone else who may be interested, I recently bought the Tekton 2830 small screwdriver set and it's awesome, for just $12 on Amazon. It includes 9...- bzippy

Meze 99 Classics Discussion + Impressions Thread
+1 I tweak a little for different recordings (and sometimes even no eq), but I usually start here: 31: -1 63: -2 125: -2 250: -1 BUT I just decided to finally try the Yaxi pads that so many here seem to love, to find out for myself whether they bring the bass down at all. I'm currently...- bzippy

IFI Idsd micro black label or Schiit Jotunheim
Do you need it to be portable? If not, many would say you'll get more for your money going with a desktop unit than the Micro BL Plus I personally don't love using battery powered units for non-portable applications if I can avoid it. But if you do want it to be portable then it's pretty hard...- bzippy

Monolith M1060C Closed Back Planar Headphones impressions
Sorry you're not into them. And thanks for saying so in a way that respects the opinions of those who do like them (like me). It's so funny though, how all this turns out differently for each of us. I'm a fellow 600 lover, and know exactly what you mean about the layers, and also how the...- bzippy

Focal Clear-Should I worry or not?
I've had my Clears since last summer and it's looking pretty dirty. I tried to clean them once but it didn't really do much. Definitely a design flaw. I have had a set of Dekoni Elite Hybrid pads in my Amazon wish list for months now. But at $89 I just can't bring myself to do it, especially...- bzippy

Monolith M1060C Closed Back Planar Headphones impressions
Hey, cool video. Thanks for that! I must have rather mildly resonant ear canals because the 600 sounds very natural to me, and is perhaps my all time favorite overall headphone for tonality of mids and highs. Actually I'm also quite sensitive to treble, and don't like anything much brighter...- bzippy

How do you all use your graphic EQ?
I wish, but that's just not possible for me. I guess if I could get the following 3 versions of my Focal Clear, I'd be all set: 1. Stock 2. Closed, for indoor isolation 3. Closed and smaller for portable Actually that wouldn't even do it because sometimes I feel like the slightly smoother...- bzippy
