@Philimon Those earpads are good. I use it on modded Deva. Frequency response is flat like Sennheisers but slightly more subbass. But it still lack a bit of sub bass. Very good wireless headphone :)

HiveX is $650+shipping and EHA5 €400. Not that expensive. It's a good starting point.

For FPS I recommend electrostatic headphones. Purely because it is the fastest to produce sound. You save a lot money to get some cheap electostatic and cheap Topping EHA5 amp. Also EQ plays big role.

@Svperstar I haven't heard or experienced any problems with Ifi iESL. Fully transparent too. It gets expensive also because you need a good stereo amp. My system cost about the same as Phantom. But you get Balanced IN>OUT and can use dynamic headphones. If I could just find used EHA5 somewhere...

What amp? Cheap aliexpress perforated angled leather pads have more U-shaped sound. More bass and less midrange.

Is this amp too veiled and lush sounding with a tube amp? I have quite perfect synergy with Topping DX7 Pro (BA V6 Classic op-amps) > L30 II > Muzishare X7.
