REVIEW: Resolution Audio Cantata Music Center DAC/CD Player
Have you updated the firmware? It makes quite a difference I hear, especially with older units that had problems with the CD Unit being pretty noisy.- reverendo

REVIEW: Resolution Audio Cantata Music Center DAC/CD Player
Seems like you have a fautly unit. Items 1, 2 and 4 shouldn't be happening. Item 3 might be due to setup. I'd also get in touch with Resolution Audio. They're pretty fast in answering any inquiries. Hope it works out all right.- reverendo

REVIEW: Resolution Audio Cantata Music Center DAC/CD Player
I honestly wouldn't be able to classify the Cantata as anything close to "dark" unless you compare it to something that has it's tonal balance tilted upwards. I do agree, though, that it has a very liquid and very, very transparent sound. OTOH, I use it in a stereo setup which is very neutral. A...- reverendo

Hegel HD20,HD10,HD2 Impression Thread
hi there, is anybody using the Hegel as a pre? would love to know your impressions. I'm interested into looking into a new dac/pre and maybe this is a possibility. I've already got a great dac/pre (Camelot Uther with latest upgrades), but I guess I got the itch again. Was kind of looking into...- reverendo

The Vintage Dac & CD Player List/Review Thread
@ computerparts thanks for the taking the time to answer. I'm rather curious about the Elgar+, but really don't know if it's worth the money since you normally can't get one (used, since they're not in production anymore) for less than USD 5000. There's a lot of stiff competion in that price...- reverendo

The Vintage Dac & CD Player List/Review Thread
Computerparts, congrats on a great project. I've always wondered how vintage DACs would compare to current ones. I also think that you've been very straightforward about your bias towards tubes ("Give me tubes or give me death!") which makes your comments easier to interpret. Have you, by any...- reverendo

Better performance than Emm Labs standard DCC2 at what cost?
Can anyone give me an idea on the sound of the DCC2 (non-SE)? I have the opportunity of buying one, but it would be blind. I'm thinking of connecting it directly to my Gryphon amp. What kind of price would be a good price. best regards- reverendo
