Moon Audio Ambassadors Program!
I store files locally, too, both for convenience, and fact that I travel to remote areas, such as Central America where accessibility isn't a possibility. I also take pride in collecting, organizing and listening to my own music files.- Uncle AL

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide
First MK IV SE returned on warranty due to finish problem. LD responded well and sent replacement, but amp has much lower output. Set gain to 5, ON-OFF. Volume must be set to 50 (12 O'Clock) for comfortable listening. Audio quality is excellent. Just lower than expected output.- Uncle AL

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Thanks. Found 100K ohm ladder-type stepped attenuator (Dale) on eBay for around $53 USD including shipping, that should be well worth the investment. Regarding your hope to upgrade caps.. one head-fier in previous thread installed vibration damping feet on bottom of BH wooden case, raising it...- Uncle AL

You Know You're an Audiophile When.. Version 2!
Whoa... What amplifier are you considering? You really sparked my interest! I'm considering the Bottlehead S.E.X. kit with C4S, impedance switch, stepped attenuator and capacitor upgrade, but I can persuade myself to consider additional options, too :D- Uncle AL

YKYAAW... You consider, in advance every component for an upgrade.. headphones, amp, cables, but only have the bucks to buy one item at a time.. even then, you nearly max out accounts, each month just to feed your audio addiction.- Uncle AL

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
I bought mine through Musician's Friend for $399, and if you can find it cheaper, they'll match the price. They ship free in the U.S., so not sure how much extra for Canada. I never regretted decision to buy the HD650s.. and glad I have them. Someone wrote about the ATH-AD1000X headphones, and...- Uncle AL

YKYAAW... You buy new headphones.. let's say HD800s, and then you realize you need to buy a new amplifier to take proper advantage of improved clarity and soundstage.- Uncle AL

Q701 impressions thread
The Schiit Vali are well thought of and should pair well The LD MKIII may provide anotger prospect and is slightly darker with bit more "tube you" sound to balance Q701s clarity and tendancy to be a bit bright.- Uncle AL
