YKYAAW you buy the headphones you've been researching for months and suddenly have no clue what to do while on the internet

And that condition will only last for a month. A week after you receive your headphone, your search shall continue! Or maybe within a few days, a day, hour, minutes, or even seconds!

I've finally acquired some money and now you're saying I'm going to spend it all?

I guess "Sorry for your wallet" is an appropriate phrase for this forum

YKYAAW... You buy new headphones.. let's say HD800s, and then you realize you need to buy a new amplifier to take proper advantage of improved clarity and soundstage.

Then you realized that your amplifier need a better DAC. After that, cable need an upgrade. All set and done. "This headphone is boring. I want to try something new"

After HD 800, should be audeze. Then some Stax headphones.

It was the T1 after the HD800 for me. Sold the T1 to get an HDVA600, then planned on getting an Audeze, only to find out I'm pretty certain I can't wear them for an extended amount of time. So got myself an HD650 instead, and the K812 afterwards.

Do I regret getting the HD650 over an LCD-2? Not really. What I regret is selling the T1

You would love the T1, mate. Whatever genre you listen to, the T1 would play it brilliantly! IMO it sounds good with every genre I've ever heard it with.

YKYAAW you would never consider buying a headphone until deciding on every other needed component.

I'm jumping straight into the Abyss. Cool thing is, since I decided on an amp that is under $2,000 and outperforms all the others I was looking at (even one that costs nearly $20K!) and a DAC a little over $2,000 that outperforms many five-figure ones, I can invest that money (when I have it, that is) into maximizing the performance of the system.

YKYAAW you argue with people about the merits of properly designed cables, power management, and vibration control.

(After that, I will perhaps build an electrostat system [SR-009, SR-007, Orpheus, Float, DIY T2 amp, etc.] to complement that one, then add other headphones to the first system as an afterthought, mainly for the sake of variety.)

YKYAAW... You consider, in advance every component for an upgrade.. headphones, amp, cables, but only have the bucks to buy one item at a time.. even then, you nearly max out accounts, each month just to feed your audio addiction.
