Cable upgrade for Sennheiser 2.5mm to 3.5mm?
I've run a search but didn't find anything specifically related to 2.5mm to 3.5mm cables, as they're obviously not common these days, but the M4, unfortunately, comes with one and doesn't seem to run USB-C to USB-C for music. I'm wanting to upgrade it so that I get the most out of the M4s when...- OldHooky

B&O Portal dilemma - return and change, or add DAC?
Morning all I've got a pair of unopened B&O Portals, unopened as I can't decide or find enough evidence to say whether they are a proper pair of B&O phones with a dollop of Xbox tech thrown in, or too much of a sonic compromise if you're not really a gamer. I still travel a fair amount, so an...- OldHooky

Recommendation for cans for purely Mono listening
I'm currently using a pair of HD-25 IIs and I’m after an additional set of phones for the office. In case this requires different gear, I’m after a set of closed phones which are ideally suited to Mono? Your recommendations plse. Pricing sub £100. Cheers- OldHooky

DAP settings or new DAP player recommendation for poor hearing on one side only (high tone deafness)
I've recently and suddenly had a 50db drop in hearing on one side - high tone deafness - which mostly effects speech and music. I've tried to counteract it on my D2 but it's not enough, even playing with the Pan feature and pushing it to -20/20. So I'd appreciate any advice on what might...- OldHooky

Are these CX400s fake?
I recently bought these and my first impression of the packaging, notable the print of the CX 400, was that they are fakes. I was also concerned by the slightly blotchy painted S on the main body of the phones. I've contacted the seller who said that they believe they are real and...- OldHooky

Noise Cancelling/Isolating Headphones - NOT IEMs - buying advice please
Thanks for the advice. I suppose my choice is partly made a little easier in that I'd only use this pair of phones when NC is required ie not for normal listening when SQ is all important. NC has to be exceptional otherwise it undermines the SQ of the phone, so there would be no point in...- OldHooky

Noise Cancelling/Isolating Headphones - NOT IEMs - buying advice please
Got the news the other day that a virus I picked up last year has caused permanent hearing loss in one ear, and I'm going to have to wear a hearing aid. 35 years too young for one! :( Anyway, what it means is that I will probably be better off replacing my Klipsch Image X10 IEMs, which I...- OldHooky

Thinking of moving on from my D2 - but to what?
I've had good service from my DAB D2, especially with a 32GB card, but the desire to get something else is here, and something with buttons as I'm not a great fan of touchscreens. Budget: About £150 - so may be looking at "used" IEMs: Klipsch Image X10s Music: All sorts Your...- OldHooky

What's a good upgrade from Super.Fi 5 Pros?
I should have added that I've got the Westone cables fitted. That might make a difference to recommendations? From reading the Klipsch and IEs may be good options - the UMs are more expensive in the UK.- OldHooky

What's a good upgrade from Super.Fi 5 Pros?
Have a bit of upgraditis so was wondering what people would suggest? I play all types of music on my D2 and use IEMs more for when travelling ie either of flights or main source for listening when away. So since it's not for listening in perfect ambient surroundings I don't want to go...- OldHooky

Canals for the office - recommendations please
I've been using some MDR-EX082 with my D2 for a while now and am looking for an alternative. I don't find them particularly exciting or musical. I'm after some canals rather IEMs so that I'm not completely cut off from the office, which my super-fis achieve very well! Proper phones are not an...- OldHooky

Anyone use a modest-priced amp with an iaudio D2?
Thanks Drag0n. I'm after a budget amp, as I have a limited budget. No other reason. Since I'm not aware of a local shop with these to demo and also as the D2 is not a High Street mp3 player here, I have to base a lot of the decision on the recommendations of owners. That said, the...- OldHooky
