Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
I asked Audeze if there had been any changes to the LCD-2 drivers since the case/cable have changed. They said "There have been no changes to our LCD-2 drivers since 2016 when we rolled out a series of driver revisions. Any LCD-2 with a serial number equal to or greater than 5426093 should...- aCommunistSpy

I will be bringing my Stax L700 as well. Got a good deal on it and it sounds amazing to me, even better than the L300. I only have the cheapest Stax amp (srs-252s) to go with it but the Lambda series aren't that hard to drive. Though maybe someone will bring a better amp (would love to try a...- aCommunistSpy

The Entry Level Stax Thread
Yes, I agree for the most part sound quality is always better with stock pads. You can see zeos use different pads here: https://youtu.be/R869ABpfdaM?t=1092 and he doesn't think it makes as much difference as other headphones. It's interesting how he puts the pads on ear first haha. I think I...- aCommunistSpy

The Entry Level Stax Thread
I was considering just gluing HM5 sheepskin pads to my head then wearing the phones. Or just attaching the pads with some light double sided tape after detaching the stock ones. There doesn't seem to be many options. Also, will this 200 watt step down transformer be good enough for a srm-252s...- aCommunistSpy

The Entry Level Stax Thread
Just bought the SRS-3100! Should be here next week. Can't wait. I have a question since I wear glasses: which aftermarket pads do you guys enjoy with these? I'm thinking of getting the Brainwavz ones. Thanks- aCommunistSpy

Stax SR-L300 Impressions Thread
I just purchased the srs-3100 and should be here next weekish! I'm excited In his review, zeos wasn't impressed on first day either but apparently these really need to 'break-in' or the membranes to get fully charged. I'm thinking of just using double sided tape and a pair of HM5 pads...- aCommunistSpy

Yes, I would love to compare them. I have always liked Koss's customer loyalty and lifetime warranty (I used like 4 times on my clip-on's ). I feel I will be a bit screwed if the Stax amp breaks on me. Their warranty is for 1 year and japan only . I will have to baby these things haha- aCommunistSpy

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Thanks for the heads-up! Those pads were tempting but I guess you reap what you sow. I hear even the HM5 pads drastically alter the sound for the worse (bass mostly).- aCommunistSpy

That looks like an incredible setup! I guess you need a crazy amp to run those hungry planar magnetics. Looks like you could run an ultrasound scan if you wanted to haha Looks like you will have to recruit a young blood to lift that thing, seems as heavy as an old CRT TV.- aCommunistSpy

This seems quite fun, I've always wanted to try out planar magnetic headphones. Maybe this is my chance! Do most people bring gear / set up tables? Would anyone be interested in a lowly Aune T1 + HD 600 / MS1 setup?- aCommunistSpy

New 2010 M50's are different/worse?
Hello fellow audiophiles. I was about to pull the trigger on a ATH-M50 but I just read that this new model (2010) was worse than the other years. Inferior seperation, smaller soundstage, sibiliance, shrill treble, ect. http://www.headfonia.com/test-burn-in-and-production-variations/...- aCommunistSpy

Who Are Head-Direct?
yea i received my PK3's today and they have around 12 hrs of burn in now. And holy **** these are better than advertised. The SQ and comfort is almost on the level of my MS1's (And they look much less dorky than the old school phones with yellow hd414 pads lol!). It honestly feels like i'm...- aCommunistSpy

Who Are Head-Direct?
i think i just fell in love... I placed an order for RE2's yesterday at head-direct but decided i would rather have an OEM than IEM. I decided to switch RE2's for PK3's last minute and emailed him about possibly switching before he ships it. Exactly 5 minutes later (it's midnight here), Fang...- aCommunistSpy

i also am a member of the FX33's. I payed the full 25$ but i understand there was a 10$ sale at bestbuy or something recently. The kramer's mod makes them sound great! unfortunately, i don't have any other tips to exchange them with.. is there a huge noticable difference in SQ?- aCommunistSpy

decisions, decisions
well.. I believe that the MS-1's would sound better than the sr60's if you also listen to other genre's besides metal/rock (like classical). And besides, it's not that much more expensive and free shipping. I say buy the MS1 and if the grado sound is for you, upgrade up their line or something.- aCommunistSpy
