Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 vs. vmoda m100
Coming from a fellow Metalhead! One thing I have learnt from my many headphones and setups, is too much bass ruins the track (imo)! For me, out of those two, I would go for the Momentum 2.0 or the V-Moda XS like mentioned above. The V-Moda M-100 are just too bassy for me, and in my...- HUM24H

Which android dap you guys recommend?
Out of that list, I'd go for the Fiio X7. No need for the DP-X1 unless you really need the dual DAC & AMP chips plus the balanced output. I would also look at Pioneer XDP-100R, basically the little brother to the DP-X1.- HUM24H

I want to get into Hi-Res, but I'm a noob.
Personally for me, Hi-Res is something to get somewhat excited about but not something to buy new gear for. In all honesty, I would personally say that you demo a few Digital Audio Players like Fiio & Sony with Hi-Res music files with CD FLAC & MP3 320Kbps versions of the same files and see...- HUM24H

Is it possible to let my friend try my ciem?
Well CIEM's are custom molded to the shape of your outer ear and ear canal, that is why they do not require the use of ear tips as the mold of CIEM will fit deep into your ear canal. Short answer is, no. You won't be able to fit some kind of ear tip to the end of the CIEM for someone else to...- HUM24H

ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |
I tried using the X-Dap Link software but even once I managed to get it going, it was simply a lot easier to drag & drop via Windows Explorer. I would suggest just sticking with that and leave the software.- HUM24H

Wireless headphones for PC/games and music
I would probably suggest going onto the Manufacturer's website and downloading the latest drivers for the dongle, I wouldn't use the CD as most likely the drivers that are on the CD are out of date to what is online.- HUM24H

Wireless headphones for PC/games and music
Don't forget that if we listen to something for long enough we tend to think that it sounds best and it isn't until we listen to something that is better, that we realise how better sound can be. So yeah I would say give it some time for you to get used to the sound. Honestly if you have...- HUM24H

Introduction and question concerning DACs
Sometimes old amps have the ability to add remote IR units to them via a port on the back but unfortunately your receiver does not have this ability and most likely, as you've said, due to its age. My only solution is do get a new receiver with an IR blaster built into the unit and an...- HUM24H

Introduction and question concerning DACs
Firstly, welcome! :) Your theory and idea of what you want to do is correct, a Multi Input DAC will do exactly what you want it to do. You will be able to input multiple sources into the DAC, connect the DAC to a single set of speakers/headphones and then be able to switch between sources on...- HUM24H

Wireless headphones for PC/games and music
As long as the dongle has Bluetooth 4.0 or higher than you should be fine. I would simply go for the one with the best reviews + highest bluetooth standard + Perhaps have AptX onboard as well.- HUM24H

Need advice from owners: excessive sibilance brightness with new DUNU DN-2000J's?
Personally, I don't really believe a "burn-in" effects the sound signature or quality. For me I found the Fidue A83 highs to be harsh initially and to this day they are still as harsh as they were when I first heard them but I have personally become use to the harsh/sparkly highs and like it...- HUM24H

Need advice from owners: excessive sibilance brightness with new DUNU DN-2000J's?
Other than that, there is not much I can say but try and look for IEM's with a warm sound signature. Shure's SE535 comes to mind in terms of a warm/lush sound signature.- HUM24H

Need advice from owners: excessive sibilance brightness with new DUNU DN-2000J's?
Ah man! Thought you would've had a good time with the Dunu DN-2000J, mainly because I thought the DN-2000J would've had a slightly less sparkly highs compared to the Fidue A83 which has some very sparkly highs which kinda adds to the great detail that I like. The hiss is annoying, the output...- HUM24H

ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |
I mean you can come and test it here if you want :D But yeah I managed to put my XDP-100R at the top furthest part of the house and then I stood at the bottom furthest part from the XDP-100R, so I had the maximum theoretical distance between the headphones and the XDP-100R. And honestly...- HUM24H

Just wanted to say that I've just tested using my V-Moda CFW's with my XDP-100R. My house has three floors and so I put the XDP-100R on the top floor and no matter where I stood in the house, the signal was not degraded and didn't cutting out and sound quality was consistent. Outside...- HUM24H

Pioneer's first DAP, the XDP-100R announced in IFA
Potentially! They are roughly the same size. XDP-100R: 128.9 x 75.9 x 13.0mm (WxHxD) DP-X1: 129.0 x 75.9 x 12.7mm (WxHxD) The slight different shape may cause the case to have a slight gap at the back, where the DP-X1 is flat on its back but the XDP-100R has a slight angle to...- HUM24H

ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |
Well Airplane Mode is designed to disable Cellular, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth. So Airplane Mode is working exactly the same as it is on the DP-X1/XDP-100R and the S6. Yes on the former devices there is no existence of Cellular but Airplane Mode is still working as it would if Cellular didn't exist...- HUM24H

Ah I get where you're coming from. Tested it and with Airplane Mode on you can turn Wi-Fi back on and use it. However this is the same case with Samsung S6 Edge Plus running Android 6.0.1. So it is simply an issue with Android overall.- HUM24H

I have just tested this on my XDP-100R. I had both Wi-Fi & Bluetooth turned on with Wi-Fi connected to my home network. When I turned Airplane Mode on, it disabled both Wi-Fi & Bluetooth and then when turning off Airplane Mode both Wi-Fi & Bluetooth were turned back on.- HUM24H

SoC is System on Chip. Refers to integrated computer systems on a single chip, something like the Snapdragon chips found in smartphones. Here is the Wiki for you: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_on_a_chip- HUM24H

Pioneer's first DAP, the XDP-100R announced in IFA
It is debatable on which dac/amp he is referring to. but because he is referring to the degraded sound and distortion heard when using streaming/3rd party music apps, he is referring to the dac/amp on the SoC.- HUM24H
