I've also found that early black metal sounds best on tape. It's probably nostalgia, as I was first was introduced to the genre through tapes.

Format Agnostic is the way to be. I generally prefer digital formats for music made/recorded digitally and analog format for music recorded as such. Or in some cases, the version I want is only available in one medium.

Cool, that's the Dan Clark set up for most of his demos and shows...it always delivers. I'm super curious about the HEDDphone and RAAL headphones, I can't believe that I missed it this weekend.

@Odin412 Can you recall what was powering the HEDDphone and Dan Clark Audio products?

The site works. It does load slow.

Joe, indeed it is the input transformers that makes the difference. Although, there are other changes from Mogwai OG to Mogwai SE that have added to the SE model's performance. Justin can go further into that. It's also why @ampsandsound doesn't offer the Mogwai SE without the input transformer.
