Watches - another passion of ours, it seems...post your pics!
Not true. There is beauty in pretty much every watch I've ever seen. I don't care much for fakes, that much I can say. I'd rather have an awesome automatic Tissot instead for a tad increase in price - but there are awesome watches when on a budget. Never assume anything else.- Vargtass

Watches - another passion of ours, it seems...post your pics!
My collection thus far - not that I'm planning anything new ... 1. Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean cal 8500 - bought in 2012, it's surprisingly enough accurate to the second last time I benched it over 48 hours. Workhorse! 2. Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon - love at first sight...- Vargtass

Toxic Cables - Impressions and Discussion Thread
I'll try to get a comparison up between the Black Widow and my Q-cable. If I'm lucky, I might be able to reverse my audeze to sennheiser-adapters I bought for my Q-cables. If so - I can try the Black Widow cable and Q-audio on both phones (with luck, do mind).- Vargtass

Toxic Cables - Impressions and Discussion Thread
Just placed an order for the Black Widow for my Sennheiser HD-800's. Needed a balanced cable - tired of swapping my Q-audio cables from my LCD-3's to my HD-800's - meaning I haven't really touched my 800's in a year. Now, I'm hoping to add some life into the 800's and have a quick and...- Vargtass

New Schiit! Ragnarok and Yggdrasil
The FAQ is pure gold as usual. Wonder how it will behave with a pair of HD 800's. I have absolutely no doubt it will make my LCD-3's shine even brighter. The Mjolnir I've got now compliments them just so good. Looking forwards to reviews.- Vargtass

NAD M51 Direct Digital DAC Impressions
I'm at 1.43 yessir. I'm uncertain why people don't like it. I feel it's better than what I previously had (as said, a very old build, quite possibly the first one that shipped with the DAC seing as I bought it not long after release) but it's a step up for me. Using it paired with a Schiit...- Vargtass

NAD M51 Direct Digital DAC Impressions
I flashed my firmware a couple of weeks ago and I've noticed that my DAC shuts itself off after idling for a while. Couldn't find any info about it in the firmware read-me. It never shuts off except for when it's idle without input / music playing, so I'm assuming it's a new feature - I just...- Vargtass

Schiit Mjolnir headphone amplifier
Has anyone had issues with a sort of crackling sound from the mjolnir now and then? I'd describe it as a sort of not fully volumed "pop" coming from one of the channels - and I'm unsure of why. It doesn't happen often though. My local dealer thought it could be a problem with the the soldering...- Vargtass

NAD M51 Direct Digital DAC Impressions
I had 1.36 (I think - the dac was bought just about when it hit the stores and then never updated) and I recently upgraded the firmware. I can't really tell much of a difference - there might be a slightly wider sound stage and possibly some added oomph, but I'm pretty much sure that's placebo...- Vargtass

Denon AH-C560R Photo's, First Impressions and Review - Could these be a contender?
Do these iems reduce outside noise at all, aka fit so that you shut out noise? I'm researching a cheap'ish alternative for my girlfriend. She's stolen my Westone 4's at the moment and really likes them, but they're a bit outside her price range, and I can get these for about 70 usd in...- Vargtass

LA7000 vs LCD-2 - Can they even be compared?
I suspect you're right, MHOE. I could maybe consider a pair of HD-800 for those "wow" moments where I want the ultimate sound stage or something, but I agree about the LCD-2's doing mostly everything right. The only thing I guess I can complain about is the ... more narrow sound stage compared...- Vargtass

LA7000 vs LCD-2 - Can they even be compared?
And I'm back here ... same thread, once again pondering the LA7000. My problem per now is sound leakage out to my girlfriend, and the fact that I have a loudspeaker for the tv pretty much 20 cm away from my left ear - feeding into the open LCD-2's. Also, I guess I'm not 100% happy with the fit...- Vargtass

Multi-Custom In-Ear Monitor Review, Resource, Mfg List & Discussion (Check first post for review links & information)
Quote: Ah great suggestion! Checking out their webpage now, and will get to a review as soon as I can. At uni at the moment, but will have more time later. Wonder how that transition will be though, from huge phones to well-fitting CIEMS. It's not that the LCD-2's are a horrible...- Vargtass

Multi-Custom In-Ear Monitor Review, Resource, Mfg List & Discussion (Check first post for review links & information)
Any suggestions on what custom iem's that can seriously compete with a stationary system at the moment? I currently own the Nad M51-dac, Schiit Mjolnir amp and LCD-2 with custom balanced cables and it does sound pretty damn good. My main problem is the fact that I reside in the...- Vargtass

NAD M51 Direct Digital DAC Impressions
Pulled the trigger on the M51 a week ago and haven't much looked back. Build quality is flawless, and it sits damn good on my desk with the new Schiit Mjolnir on top of it. All good, and designs match pretty good. My only issue was a popping sound on both channels for a while, but...- Vargtass
