MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones

Honestly there isn't much difference between pad swaps for me, though I like them with the E pads on quite a bit. It's the actual clamp of the headphone against my jaw that causes my ears to ache after an hour. Every time. At any level of tightness or looseness. Any looser and it would fit past...

MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones

Anybody have any advice on what I might do to reduce the clamp of the Ether? Honestly I have trouble wearing them for more than 2-3 hours max because the clamp is overkill against the jaw and it ends up making my ears hurt. I know they are memory metal but.....

Close to the same, if a pinch worse. I forgot to say but it's also more comfortable if you are wearing glasses.

MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones

Got those Electrostat pads on my C Flows. Pictures to show exactly how they look and their width (comparable to stock maybe slightly thinner by a hair).   First thing I'm going to say before going any further, is that Dan should offer upon sale which pad to choose. Given how...

MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones

I think then it would be interesting, to give someone a pair of headphones (400+ hours) and tell them that they are new and to make note if they experience "burn in." Hard to pull off reliably and with enough people but it would be interesting to say the least, especially coming from people...

MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones

Exactly what I always tell myself. It is so hard to shake off your own mind's bias you really cannot tell. In my case it is especially hard to tell because 90 percent of my headphones are open/semi-open and then going in to use the Ether C Flow it is kind of........ underwhelming. Seemed to get...

Why not listen to them while they burn in while you're at home? I know this is subjective but I think burn-in is a pleasant experience and it helps me understand the nuances of the headphone. These headphones also really open up a lot earlier than 200, mine aren't even there yet but it's bliss.

MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones

Okay I will post my thoughts once the pads arrive. Hopefully by tomorrow, they left Cali days ago and I'm West Coast. I've always enjoyed pads with wide openings far more than others that are not. Kind of like th600/900 pads (my favorite pad except they fall apart so easy). I have a tarnished...

MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones

I have a pair of C flows, I'm the 2nd owner. They sound very good for a closed headphone with incredible speed and linearity. Perhaps bordering on boring... except that no other headphones closed really hit sub-bass through mids to highs without experiencing a fault or a dip somewhere like these...

How to replace faulty HD800 driver?

honestly you might not even hear much difference if at all. sometimes you can but it's usually on lower end models when it comes to headphones/hp models.

How to replace faulty HD800 driver?

yeah but all drivers have their minute differences, and are always paired. That's why I'd buy 2 matched drivers or just send to Senn and they'll match the old driver, no?

How to replace faulty HD800 driver?

Yes, send them to Sennheiser. Matched drivers are better than unmatched ones, after all. If doing yourself....... good luck, but some mod threads should show you at least how to take them apart. Solder with silver and practice on something cheap first or pay Jerg to do it, or something. Good...

Fostex HP-A4BL (the A4 with balanced output)

I believe that headphone is the TH-600 mk 2, compliment to the recent TH-900 mk 2 released with disconnectable cables. And they ditched the magnesium cups for wood.

Would appreciate the review, if the item wasn't discontinued. I think that by how long these have been out most of us know how good/bad they are, and it's kind of a waste of a read and your own time to review a product that is hard to obtain these days. Just my 2 cents though.
