Does anyone have any instructions or advice for me on how to replace a faulty HD800 driver? Otherwise it's a $550 repair cost to sennheiser and that ain't happening.

Yes, send them to Sennheiser. Matched drivers are better than unmatched ones, after all. If doing yourself....... good luck, but some mod threads should show you at least how to take them apart. Solder with silver and practice on something cheap first or pay Jerg to do it, or something. Good luck m8.

yeah but all drivers have their minute differences, and are always paired. That's why I'd buy 2 matched drivers or just send to Senn and they'll match the old driver, no?

I'm going to have to suffer a minute difference then because I'm not paying $500 for a repair, I can almost buy a new one on ebay for that much.

honestly you might not even hear much difference if at all. sometimes you can but it's usually on lower end models when it comes to headphones/hp models.
