Closed headphones < $300 with larger earcups than Aurvana for gaming and music?
It will be plugged into a Soundblaster Z, which has a built in head phone amplifier. Any experience with the AKG K550 for gaming? Decent soundstage for a closed HP for FPS games? Also anyone ever tried the Sennheiser G350? If I was able to get away with the sound leakage of a...- TheUnknown

Closed headphones < $300 with larger earcups than Aurvana for gaming and music?
I did. The vast majority of them are open headphones unfortunately. A actually bought the Aurvanas based on that thread, but unfortunately the ear cup size is way too small for me.- TheUnknown

Closed headphones < $300 with larger earcups than Aurvana for gaming and music?
Just starting out here and been reading the various threads on the site. I am looking for good closed headphones with good sound isolation that I can use with music and games (fps, rpg, basically all types). I purchased the Creative Aurvanas and they sound great, but I guess my head and...- TheUnknown

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)
Any particular reason he prefers his onboard over the ZxR? I honestly have not noticed a huge difference and only bought the SB Z as I thought I would need it to power my headphones properly. As it is, I don't think I needed them as I need to keep the volume on 7% when using the headphones...- TheUnknown

Confused how to setup virtual surround sound with headphones and Soundblaster Z
OK thanks for the info. I assume that when I want to listen to music, I would then need to revert the Windows speaker settings to stereo? Is there any way to automate this process as I play games with both 2.1 speakers and the virtual surround in headphones. Seems like a lot of going back...- TheUnknown

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)
Actually the only thing I don't like about the SB Live Control Panel is that I can't set volume settings for the headphone profile that are different from the speaker. Not sure if thats normal, though, for all cards.- TheUnknown

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)
No, not at all. Some quirkyness in the control panel, but otherwise I think its fine. Then again, I do not know much about computer audio and was concerned after reading the first post in this topic.- TheUnknown

Confused how to setup virtual surround sound with headphones and Soundblaster Z
I am a confused as to the proper way to setup virtual surround sound on my Creative Aurvana headphones with a Soundblaster Z sound card. What I have done, but not sure is correct: 1. In the SB Z control panel, I set the speaker configuration to headphones. 2. In the SBX Pro Studio I...- TheUnknown

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)
I recently upgraded my computer from a built-in realtek to a Soundblaster Z card. I chose this card because of the built-in HP amplifier. After discovering this topic, I see that Nameless suggests steering away from this card and I am wondering if I made the wrong choice. Are these bad...- TheUnknown

Newb to headphones. How much sound leakage should I expect from an open headphone?
Normally I listen to music all day ranging from george winston to pearl jam on my computer speakers. At night, I also sometimes play FPS and other types of games on the computer. Temporarily myself, and my family, have moved into a smaller apartment and I wanted to get headphones to not only...- TheUnknown

Newb needs help on gaming+music closed over ear headphone with larger ear cups than Aurvana
Hi All, Terrific community here. Been reading up on here but still need some recommendations on a good, comfortable, closed, and over-the-ear headphone. I purchased the Creative Aurvana headphones two days ago and though they sound great to me, the ear cups are just too small for my ears...- TheUnknown
