Would it be bad to convert FLAC to MP3s?
Me too use Foobar, it's pretty powerful and straightforward. Thank you.- Tetsuro P12

Would it be bad to convert FLAC to MP3s?
Since I do not have anymore the original CD do you think it's bad to convert to MP3 from an already converted track? In my mind it could be ok since FLAC isn't a lossy codec. What do you think?- Tetsuro P12

Review by 'Tetsuro P12' on item 'Philips Fidelio S1'
As for any 'flat EQ' speakers these IEMs lacks a bit of energy and sparkle (not definition, they have plenty of it!), not everything is rendered precisely since they try to do everything (in particular I do not like the rendition of cymbals), so they do not excel in any particular area except...- Tetsuro P12

Already have (Goldring DR100, just good), but need and IEMs for listening music on the go. Smartphones cannot really drive headphones, moreover I want something very portable and those supraaural above aren't really good in terms of sound quality.- Tetsuro P12

They were both supraaural closed-back headphones. What I'm searching are IEMs with excellent clarity, big and airy soundstage and an overall balanced frequency response. I like neutral but detailed sound, wanna hear every instrument, and do not like bass that invade midrange, I like bass but not...- Tetsuro P12

Review by 'Tetsuro P12' on item 'Beyerdynamic DTX 501 p'
Warm but dark and a bit veiled sound. On the quiet side (a bit quieter than AKG 430). 2K and 4K frequencies are a bit sacrificed so voices are a bit muted and shady. Mine suggestion is to boost the 1K band with +1 dB, 2K with +2 dB, 4K with +2 dB and the 8K band with +1 dB. Can be driven loud...- Tetsuro P12

In-ear vs. supra-aural closed-back headphones
Hi, I'm looking for the next pair of headphones and I'm looking for suggestions on the type. What are the strenghts of those two types? In particural if I choose the supra-aural I would go with this one: http://www.head-fi.org/products/beyerdynamic-dtx-501-p. It's a mini type and I...- Tetsuro P12

Ask you for advice on some portable headphones
Yes, I'm more leaned towards Beyerdynamic and Sennheiser. Those are brands that at least guarantee no muffled sound, I think.- Tetsuro P12

Ask you for advice on some portable headphones
No other feedbacks? I know I could be seen as very picky. It's because I am. I do listen most '70s/80s' (Disco/SynthPop/NewWave, etc.) and 'Rock' (Classic/Blues/Psychedelic/Progressive, etc.). I'm a bit lost since a cannot ever find what I search for. Even AKG 540 do not please me.- Tetsuro P12

Ask you for advice on some portable headphones
They are available, but I heard about a weak midrange performance 'Other genres - particularly anything with a lot of mid-range guitar, violin and vocal lines - highlight a weakness in the mid-range, where there's slight muddiness and a lack of definition'. Every review I read highlight midrange...- Tetsuro P12

Ask you for advice on some portable headphones
Over-the-ear headphones are out of my range, I'm searching for on-ear headphones because need portability. The UE 4000 would be the option but heard that they give out a muffled sound.- Tetsuro P12
