Good DSP settings for Foobar over 2.0 speakers
So since I started using Foobar and headphones I have learnt about using the 5.1 experience DSP settings found in the other large thread. I am now using speakers for the time being to reduce the amount of time on headphones and I was wondering if anyone knew anny good settings to use on...- supergolf

Just got my Sennheiser HD 598s... but there's a little issue
Thanks for the link. Very helpful. Ah well, looks like it would be tricky to get a recable done then. If I can't find a 2.5mm plug small enough and mouldable for the Sennheiser hole then I might try to solder straight onto the headphones for a recable without removing the existing...- supergolf

Just got my Sennheiser HD 598s... but there's a little issue
I assumed the plug would be held in the 3.5mm socket through the tension in the socket like most headphone plugs. I know the cable is detachable because the mould of the plug means you just twist and pull. I have seen the HD558 in the shops and I detached the plug in the store. I...- supergolf

Just got my Sennheiser HD 598s... but there's a little issue
I don't understand the HD598 cabling. I have been looking into buying them for a while but isn't the cable detatchable? I thought the cable (at headphone socket end) was a 3.5mm plug with a proprietary plug. So is it not possible to sort of find a thin 3.5mm plug to go with the...- supergolf

Budget DAC for Laptop
Quite a few posters on avforums recommend the Behringer UCA202 for a budget DAC which produces good sound quality to connect Laptop>Behringer UCA202>Amp>Speakers. Does anyone with this device have any opinions on using it for a headphone DAC and to maybe connect to headphone amplifier...- supergolf

Pics of Headphones... Rules: ONE PIC. NO WORDS!
Sorry but I have to break these rules. I find it odd that no words are supposed to be in this thread. Shouldn't there be a caption under each picture to indicate what headphones are in the pictures. It would save people from being curious about the headphones and wanting to ask. It...- supergolf

Movie theaters too loud?
I can relate to this. I have been to quite a few cinemas where I am sure it was too loud. The last film I went to watch was "Hanna" in a 100(~) person theater and I honestly felt like my ear drums were being raped by the treble. I was worried some guy had accidentally nudged the...- supergolf

HD598 Disappointment
Quote: I don't know if you are still keeping your AKGs but you may want to try the blue tack mod in the future. It can be fully reversed anyway so it wouldn't hurt and you could end up with a headphone which you like. For me it made the soundstage wider and the bass was toned down. ...- supergolf

HD598 Disappointment
Quote: You just made the exact same update I have been thinking about for a while. I currently have the AKG K518DJ headphones with the bluetack mod. Would it be possible for you to explain what the differences in sounds are like? Do you have the Blue Tack mod? I am just wondering if...- supergolf

Custom Ear Pads (Pics)
I wonder if you could just take a flat piece of leather or thick material and then cut a ring out (like an onion ring) and then just stitch that on. I want to try this aswell but just not too keen on ripping apart my current pads. Quote:- supergolf
