Absolutely. Every DAP will have it unique sound signature and features. N8ii has Nutube whereas N7 is a 1-bit DAP , completely different architectures. While tonality can be measured, technicality is unfortunately subjective though people have mentioned it is present in frequency response...

I dont own N7 or N8ii for full disclosure, but I do own N6ii(A02) and N8 (first ever tube amp implementation in a DAP). I am sure from DAP to DAP comparison, N8ii being flagship DAP might be technically superior to N7 and I think Cayin positioned the product appropriately with price ranges...

I hope you have not forgotton Cayin's own N6ii A02 which actually sowed the seeds for establishing Dedicated Line Out/Pre-Out option for N7. Cayin N6ii motherboard concept has since been inherited other DAP manufacturers (you know who) which makes you guys the Pioneers. I am relishing RU7...

Thanks for the response. I am curious since we are converting balanced into single ended, I assume the line out voltage of 4.4 V cuts by half to 2.2 V. Is my understanding correct, or are we seeing 4.4 V through single ended out as well ?
