Do you run the ES100 straight off your phone? Have you tried the BTR3 or smaller two way DAPs (M0/R3)? The Mojo is out of my budget now. Is the Mojo comparable? On the same tips :)

What are your desktop and portable setups for the CE-5?

A To all of you, Seems like portable wise I'm pretty sorted for (Chord and IfI and relatively comparable), desktop amps/stacks you guys suggest? Audio gd look pretty interesting as well as the JDS and Schiit stacks.

Is that the best I can do for under $500? Update: Forgot to say I have the ifi Idsd BL already.

Thoughts on the R2R11 or the Grace Design m9xx?

Doesn't matter it it's a dac/amp or Dac+Amp. Doesn't matter if it's portable or not. Looking at new and used. Is there a huge difference in quality for a $500 portable combo VS a desktop combo? Looking to drive MrSpeakers Aeon Closed and Shure Srh1540 and other IEMs.

2nd! Get the nano, better bang for buck than the mojo.

As stated above, found an srh1540 with a cracking deal. Should I save up for the Aeon flows or are there any other headphones I should consider? Edit: Bought both.

Duly noted. Will relisten to the Beyers again this week. Also interesting you said the Mojos dont sound significantly better than the A5s. Will only be using closed cans, any other closed headphones or portable amps you'd suggest i look at?

Yeah loving the positive reviews on the Mojos so far. Will check them out with the AFCs soon. Only problem is that they stretch the budget quite a bit more. Any other portable amps i should look at, if i go with the AFCs?

I have medium ears, will give them a try. Will also enquire if earpads can be swapped out if needed to. Any portable amps that support the AFO well though?

Noted. Will try it with different amps and see if i can bass boost them if needed. Will still have to go out and find a blackwood to listen to, they're so rare!

Those with AFCs, have you tied any other headphones under the $1000 range and what are your thoughts on them in comparison? Quite keen on the AFCs but have been suggested the ZMF Blackwood, Campfire Cascades and the HE560s. Thoughts...

Happy to lug around a portable amp. Haven't had the opportunity to try out the Cashcade yet. Any reason you have the AFO over the cashcades now?
