The majority of my other IEM's have been MMCX (Including Shure headphones) and I've never had a problem. The build quality of the Timeless leaves a lot to be desired IMO.

Yeah I've bit the bullet already and ordered with HiFiGo. For the money it's hard to go wrong. I've had the TinHifi P1, PMV PP, 7Hz Timeless and they all had a quality that I loved but. The Timeless were near perfect but a loose MMCX connector and a self-destructing shell put me off them...

Ah ok gotcha! Read it wrong 😃 I wouldn't completely base your decision on having to have balanced though. You may find some closed back headphones will have better soundstage over the others regardless. I'm not sure I can recommend any closed backs that have detachable 2.5mm/3.5mm jack...

I never mentioned anything about build quality. Shure use MMCX connectors, but they're recessed into the cups a lot and are quite narrow. You probably have to open up the entry to get a standard MMCX connector in there. Google search the Shure cable and you'll see. I'm not sure what you mean...

This is correct. However, the Shure's use MMCX connectors that are recessed into the cup casing a bit. People have bored these holes out a bit so that most standard MMCX connectors can fit in. In that instance you can then use a balanced cable, say that from IEM's, as long as it's long enough...

Yeah I agree totally and I have settled on the IE300's as a fun IEM for bass dependant music - they don't possess a massive soundstage and detail although present is masked more often than not, but hey, they're a fun listen. I did try closed-back headphones to get nearer the IEM experience but...
