contact enhancement treatments
Yeah people should explain why they would put this stuff on rca jacks and connectors. My gold and nickel cable connectors stand up to oxidation pretty well If the jacks / connectors are worn then there is no substitution for new ones. Silver connectors are a pretty stupid idea if you... -
newbie leaning towards MS-1 but has some questions
The MS-1s sound like a good fit. Their bass is punchy and has adequate quality. Not as good as headphones 2 or 3 times the price but very good for their cost- silencewithin

For the environmentally conscious consumer the 4-stroke engines are better for the environment than 2-stroke engines with carburetors. For any other potential buyers, look for a fuel-injected 2-stroke or any 4-stroke. This goes for lawn-mowers and other engines too.- silencewithin

Stax Classic System II / 3030 arrived today...
Enjoy mate! It is a mighty fine system indeed. Stax cured my upgraditis. I don't need to see what lies beyond the lambdas, they satisfy me perfectly. They made me spend too much expanding the CD collection but it is worth it when I hit play I love forgetting that I am wearing headphones...- silencewithin

Help on new headphone!
I've never heard them but the hd25-II probably fall in your price range and are very portable. They are another one to research I guess. They look sharp anyway Off topic: I had the chance to listen to some bose a while back but I only listened briefly because the volume was stuck at too...- silencewithin

WHICH CIRCUMAURAL HEADPHONES BESIDES BEYERDYNAMICS HAVE THE BEST DEEPEST BASS???
Best is a silly word in subjective things like headphone-listening. Listen to any respected headphone and I think you'll find the bass response quite good and leagues ahead of the bass produced by $1 included earbuds. I've had several good headphones, none of which are renowned for...- silencewithin

If the D1001s are as good as many people here say they are...
Maybe they want to reposition their headphone brand and market themselves as more of a high-end only company? You don't see ferrari selling $10k cars new Their are distinct benefits in not selling cheap products.- silencewithin

Does ATH-A900 blow away the AKG271 ?
No idea myself (though twice as better is mostly impossible at most price points ), but this article is definitely worth a read http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f13/15...eviews-218733/ You've got to pay big money for those small improvements- silencewithin

Any closed headphones for big ears???
If cost is no object then the rectangular stax would fit 60mm in the long direction no worries. So SR-4070? They are closed. But cost, and you must factor in the amp price too. My ears are probably less "deep" (the 22mm measurement you have) and my ears touch the inside face of similar...- silencewithin

What was your first Headphone?
Mine came with a tapedeck too and it was sanyo I believe as well, circa 1990. I still had them up to a couple of years ago. I found out about Grado headphones probably 8 years ago and had dreamed of having a pair since Many years later I found head-fi and was influenced into spending large...- silencewithin

Denon D5000 sound leakage question
I just want to add to what hawat said and say that please don't listen at elevated levels that could damage your hearing One good thing about closed headphones (although the d2000 didn't isolate that much in my experience) is that you can listen at lower volumes due to the reduced ambient...- silencewithin

Looking for some help on buying new headphones
Grado Sr-60, Sr-80, Alessandro MS-1. Take your pick As Anvil said, they fit well within your budget, and they shouldn't disappoint. They are good all-rounders and a good introduction that can last you as long as you want them to (I still have my MS-1s despite having much better headphones)...- silencewithin

vintage phones are they worth it
Sure. That goes for other things in head-fi too I don't know anything about those cans though. Vintage is a good way to get good value for money.- silencewithin
