I'm looking at some powered studio monitors for use with my PC. I'm looking at 2 that tell me i can plug phones into. The more expensive pair have DAC. Will this get me by for my PC use. Will the DAC make a big difference?

Okay i'm going to come out with it.. Many a thread says that you need a powerful headphone amp to run Sennheiser 650's (for eg.). Why? Why couldn't my av receiver which drives some demanding speakers, be able to get the most from these headphones? I just can't get my head around it...
