Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones
Wait, wait, wait... if there is an attenuation ring in the M1060's, and people with vegans are not using it, which lead to great sound... could the simple removal of the attenuation ring get you a part of the way to the better sound? (being that vegans are now unicorns)- Sgnardellis

Win a SUSVARA
As a narcoleptic who struggles with hours upon hours of time sent awake, I resign myself to listening to engaging music so I don't disturb my wife and her sleep. It helps to calm me and I'm constantly looking for that more engaging, more enveloping and more holistic sound.- Sgnardellis

It does in fact work fine. I got a 9ft one for surround to couch listening at night.- Sgnardellis

I know they are flat, but has anyone tried the brainwavz round velour pads? I went on a futile hunt for vegans last week at some small shops in manhattan. Each time being told someone had just purchased the last pair that day. Only to then have my soundapproach order cancelled.- Sgnardellis

Coffee filter. Clever idea. By in front do you mean under foam or under grill?- Sgnardellis

Right now instead of. But I'm about to put the paper towel back in and see. Maybe under the foam.- Sgnardellis

They are surprisingly easy to modify and very responsive. I guess it should be expected when you dangle a massive open driver in front of your ears. Now I either need small neodymium magnets in the screw holes to quick swap the grill for easy back and forth or a testing rig.- Sgnardellis

I think I improved it. I took a piece of thin acoustic felt from the mayflower modding kit for t50. I spent an exceedingly long time reducing the adhesive back. Sticking it to and unsticking it from a sheet of card stock until very little remained. And placed it over the driver under the foam...- Sgnardellis

That's it under the wires. It's even shown in their exploded diagram. A little rectangle of acoustic something.- Sgnardellis

This is actually really interesting because I was looking around and noticed the LCD-3 uses a small thin foam or fabric above the driver output under their main foam. I have some supplies from my t50 modding and was thinking about adding something like this instead of the paper towel I'll give...- Sgnardellis

Good suggestion. Any idea how to tighten that joint? My left one wobbles but I can't seem to get it to tighten. It's frustrating, but I'd hate to return working cans for some squeaks. Maybe I'll be tempted to replace everything from the cups up with the entire LCD-3 headband mechanism. $130...- Sgnardellis

Ok. Still burning in my pair. Going on day 2 of round the clock playing zipped in their case so as to not piss off the dog. They sound amazing. I've done the paper towel mod with a single layer, about tissue thickness, of black party napkin on top for aesthetics. Here's my issue. The cups squeak...- Sgnardellis
