    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

I've been putting in 12 hour days with my new HD-600s. I just love them so much. Makes me so happy that I replaced my broken pair I got back in 2005. I've been jumping around to different genres. Went from some Anime Orchestra Soundtrack to Iron Maiden. Everything sounds so good.

The Ultimate HD600 vs HD650 Poll [CLOSED: HD600 Wins!]

I don't think one is clearly better than the other. I've had both the 600 and 650 multiple times. The 600 has always won out for me. Not for any big reason, but I found the bass in the 650 to be a little too much for my liking. Which isn't saying much, because it's not really that much at all...

    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

Oh jeez. Yeah I'm using iTunes and it's set to 100% volume. I then adjust the knob of my Schiit Lyr. Should I have the iTunes volume set lower? EDIT: To be clear, I don't have my Lyr cranked all the way up. Because the iTunes volume is set so high, I barely crank it up on the knob. I guess...

    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

I just tried 5 Cm Per Second's soundtrack (it's an Anime OVA). The soundtrack is almost all quiet piano. Aaaand no crackle. Must have just been the other recordings. Both crackles happened on a Miyazaki soundtrack and the Girl who Leapt Through Time soundtrack. Must have just been distorted...

    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

I recently bought new HD-600. After a lot of soul searching, I decided that my HD-600's were the best headphones I ever owned. My old 600's broke during a move (so sad). Anyways, the new ones are fantastic. I forgot how tight the headband and the clamp is. My old 600's were easily the most...

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread

Yeah, this actually was the problem I had the first week I had them. Once I got a good fit, it really change the sound drastically. But I think more than anything, I've just gotten used to the sound signature.

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread

It might just be a mental thing, but I've found that my SE-535s have really mellowed out after having for 2 weeks. I mean that in a good way. I don't hear any harshness, or shrillness in the highs that I heard when I first have them. I just love the overall sound signature on these. Kind of...

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread

I plan on getting custom IEM's when I get some time. Probably after this semester of college. Will definitely get JH13. I'm happy with the SE-535 for now. But I know the JH IEMs are loved. Definitely interested.

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread

Thanks for the impressions guys. I'm really in love with these SE-535s. Easily my favorite way to listen to music at this point (really glad I switched from full cans to IEMs). I wouldn't mind more bass, so the 846 sounds like a worthy upgrade. I just don't like when the bass is bloated/flabby...

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread

How are the SE-846 in comparison to the SE-535? I'm going to wait until January 2014 to get them. But I was wondering if there is a big jump in sound signature from the SE-535. Or if they are more of the same, just with some improvements?

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread

Schiit Lyr/Bifrost combo.   I actually ended up liking the SE-535 more. Well, I think so. I've been using them a lot more. It's just really hard for me to go back to the 4R, because it sounds to me like the 4R has a veil over it. Like a thick layer. I know that's not the case. Having had...

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread

I got the Fiio cable for the SE-535. I plan on getting a better cable next pay check, but it was only $29. I can't speak for the sound, it sounds exactly the same as the stock cable (in my mind, it sounds a little tighter). But that could be the placebo effect. Anyways, the big difference is...

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread

Interesting. Thanks for the reply guys. For some reason I prefer the yellow foam tips the most (for comfort) - but not sure I like the sound. I actually own the Westone 4R's and tried the star tips on there too. Guess I'll just keep messing around with them. For some reason the black foam tips...

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread

I know this is completely different for everyone (due to ear size being different), but what tips did you guys have the most success with? The stock tips (that were on it out of the box), made them sound shrill and anemic. I THINK it sounds much better now that I'm using the olive shaped ones...

Westone 4 Impressions and Reviews Thread

Got my SE-535's in. Yikes, what a massive change in sound from the Westone 4R's. (If you missed my earlier post, I got both IEM's to try them out at the same time). The SE-535 sounds kind of thin, shrill and sharp. It has a lot of detail, and is quick as hell. But at least for my ears, these are...
