Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!
Just got back home to my fully charged BTS. Static is still there, although I must admit it's very minor. It's slightly less than my old Macbook, but definitely louder than my iPhone and MSI laptop. Sounds fine the entire range, not sure why I thought the bass wasn't coming through at first. ...- saelanares

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!
The battery indicator said it was at about half, but I'm charging it now. That could be it, since I was also hearing a distinct lack of bass (although I don't have any bass-heavy songs on my iPhone)- saelanares

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!
Just picked up my Noble BTS. Seems to be a pretty significant amount of static with my K10s. The audio circuit shuts itself off when music isn't playing after a few seconds so there's still perfect silence if you're not listening to anything. The static is a little noticeable when music is...- saelanares

I figure he means the only way to actually crack the lacquer is to drop the IEMs or forcefully hit them on something ... so user error. Presumably the lacquer wouldn't crack under normal circumstances and, as you suggested, "mere sweat and body oil" wouldn't be able to crack it.- saelanares

Cowon Plenue P1
I had it set to 24/96k previously, because it was in Cowon's instructions that I found online. The delay actually seemed to go down while I had it connected for the last 30 minutes, but it's still pretty noticeable. The delay is really obvious to me because I test it with video game sounds...- saelanares

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!
Coming from an array of cheap-ish IEMs and headphones to my brand new K10s, I think the cable is fine. It's at least as flexible as my cheap rubber and cloth-enclosed cables, and doesn't seem to get as tangled easily (still finds a way sometimes). Don't like the memory wire, but that's because...- saelanares

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!
Finally picked up my K10s today at the UPS store, after they refused to deliver them to my school last Wednesday, and decided to send them to the wrong place after that... On the bright side, they apparently forgot to charge me import taxes when I picked them up (which was the reason they...- saelanares

Cowon Plenue P1
Ah okay so it's not just me. That's good to know ... I think? Maybe I'll have to get an O2/ODAC combo for gaming purposes, then. Or maybe they'll fix the delay at some point?- saelanares

Cowon Plenue P1
Does anyone else get some delay when using their P1 as a usb dac? When watching a movie, I had to set audio to roughly +350ms in order to get the video and audio to sync up properly. Wondering if it's just me, or if there's something I'm supposed to do that I missed.- saelanares

SpinFit Eartips Thread - The cheapest audio upgrade
Although I haven't really had problems with other tips, I got some Spinfits in each size from Dopaminer's eBay to try them out. I usually use medium Sony hybrids with my SBH80's (wireless), which have worked pretty well. The medium Spinfits are even more comfortable, though - I can barely feel...- saelanares

3 mics ranging from sub-$100 to $2000. Can you hear a difference? (Mention headphones used.)
I'm using VModa LP2s, and I thought that C sounded the most clear, followed by A and then B. Actually, B sounded the most clearly muddy, especially during the trills, but I only listened a few times so that could just be my imagination. I suppose it'd be easier to tell them apart if there...- saelanares

Looking for a pair of CIEMs (or something else?) - also, new to Head-Fi
Yeah I saw that right after I posted this. I read through some of them; now the 1964 V6 Stages and the Alclair references are looking good, though the former is a bit above what I wanted to spend.- saelanares

Looking for a pair of CIEMs (or something else?) - also, new to Head-Fi
Hi everyone! I've been a lurker on Head-Fi for quite a while now. Well, not that long; maybe 6 months or so. This is my first post, as you can probably see, and I think I registered yesterday or something like that. Basically, I'm looking for *something* to add to my collection of gear, and I...- saelanares
