    Audeze LCD-X

To my ears the soundstage is about the same between the X & XC. Again, my XC were purchased used, with the old style headband & ear pads. One thing different on mine is I was unable to get the replacement Audeze pads so I went with Dekoni Elite Sheepskin, non-fenestrated. Compared to the...

    Audeze LCD-X

You should give them a try. I bought mine used last spring so I don't know which driver generation they are but I find myself enjoying their sound more than the X. I will also say that to my ears the XC is not as bright as the X (current gen) which may be why I like them better. Pair them up...

    Audeze LCD-X

Mine are the solid non-fenestratef since I wanted to get as close to stock as possible. Audeze was out of theirs with no idea when they would get more so I got the Dekoni. They’re noticeably thicker in the back than stock but they sound great. I actually prefer the XC to the X now.

    Audeze LCD-X

I've got the LCD-XC as a nice compliment to the X. Picked them up used on eBay for a steal of a price. Came with the case. They're an older set that came with the old style band & ear pads. Replaced with new band & a pair of Dekoni Premium sheepskins and they are perfection to my ears. I assume...

    Audeze LCD-X

Broken record time for me here but if you'll read some of my previous posts I am completely smitten with the combo of the X with the iFi Micro Black Label. I keep the bass boost off and the 3D on. I also listen thru Roon which has the Reveal built-in and it does make a difference.

    Audeze LCD-X

The Arya is known to be a bit hot in the upper registers. Add to that the better bass & build quality and the X wins out IMHO.

    Audeze LCD-X

Judging by you sig photo you are coming from the 2C(?) which is known for being a "darker"-sounding headphone. The X & XC are the "brightest" phones in the Audeze lineup though compared to other phones like the Clear they are nowhere near as bright sounding. If you're coming from the 2C then I...

    Audeze LCD-X

I have the Dekoni sheepskins on my LCD-XC, I like them fine except they are noticeably thicker on the back side than the stock pads. No increase in high frequencies to my ears. I bought this headphone used so it came with the old style pads & headband. I've read in the past that all of the LCD...

    Audeze LCD-X

If I may make a suggestion...I've always heard that the Mojo has a "darker" sound when compared to it's more expensive brethren (never heard it myself). If you just add a little more to that $450 you're prepared to spend on a cable you could get an iFi Micro Black Label that would certainly...

    Audeze LCD-X

The X is almost, but not quite, as detailed as the Clear without the extra sizzle up top and much more bass. Not sloppy, overdone bass.

    Audeze LCD-X

Haven’t downloaded the plug-in because I use the Audeze feature that comes with Roon. Works great for both of LCDs.

    Audeze LCD-X

Just gave this a quick listen & you're right, it is excellent on the LCD-X although not really my taste. I listen to more downtempo music, especially Indian fusion stuff like Bombay Dub Orchestra and the like. Don't laugh too much but I absolutely love the first discs of the Buddha Bar...

Keep an eye on eBay. I got mine for $950, open box from an authorized dealer so full warranty.

    Audeze LCD-X

I would add that the 1990 has a reputation for being quite hot in the treble. Never heard them myself but that's based on reviews from others I've seen. Also, the LCD-X was purpose-built for mixing, at least according to Audeze, so take that for what it's worth. I was worried that it would be...

    Audeze LCD-X

I haven't heard that take before. The LCD X, while considered the most neutral of the line, is still considered to be on the warmer end of the spectrum compared to all headphones.
