I received my M50s just yesterday and WOW. They are really good. Music has a much bolder sensation. This is coming from my previous AD700's. Huge difference in sound. Highly recommend the M50.

Yeah the M50's should be a great choice for you. The sony xb series or the dt770 might have too much bass for you kind of music.

I listened to my friend's pair of cans the Beyerdynamic DT990 600 ohm version and I feel like it does the job well on what the OP described. Nice soundstage and plenty of bass to go around for the immersive feeling. IMO the beyers are really good overall in sound quality.

I would go for the grados, SR-80i is within your budget, at first they are uncomfortable, but i got used to my grados and can wear them for hours.   You just have to adjust to them and after that it is no big deal.

I love my 325is. I actually enjoy the bright aspect of it.

I would go for the AD700,   I have the AD700 and tried my friends AD900 and it wasn't worth the price difference.   The AD700 will give a lot more bang for your buck.

the D2000 seems pretty good from what ive read. I tested some DT990's 600 ohm a while back, and damn they sound good. Its coming out from a Little Dot II
