I've tried all of those devices and software. None of them work well (solutions within the TV, especially the stupid "decompress" options. Every TV has this in the menu and it doesn't do anything worthwhile) or have compromises I'm not willing to make, outboard receiver etc.. Yet the bottom line...

It sounds like it's almost impossible to overlook everything the BDP-105 does, including SACD playback and even HDMI inputs (!). For those living in the digital world, it really is a seemingly all in one device. I just hate that the volume control is buttons, that is so incredibly cheap feeling...

His beautiful stand and the surface finish of the HA-1 is making me want one of those even more. In that pic it's a lot easier to get an idea of the size of it, too. It's bigger than I thought (which is a good thing).

I asked this question in the HA-1 thread so I figured I may as well ask here also. I am considering the Oppo HA-1 and the D100 as DACs in my home system. Headphone listening is low in my list of priorities in either case, but I think the general reviews here on Head-Fi are just as good as any...
