Portable tube headphone amplifier
Though it is kind of cool, 1 dinky little tube will never do the same job that 2, 4, or 13 tubes will do in a desktop amp with a proper power supply. Battery life and size should be the primary considerations with a portable amp, unless it is your only system.- philodox

Best SQ for Portable Recorder
I'm just going to paste my reply to another, very similar, topic. I really like my Roland R-05 so far, though it is a little more pricey that the equivalent units from Zoom. I used it to take a live recording of a gig my girlfriend had recently using the built in binaural microphones and...- philodox

looking for a good quality WAV Stereo recorder - SD card etc
I really like my Roland R-05 so far, though it is a little more pricey that the equivalent units from Zoom. I used it to take a live recording of a gig my girlfriend had recently using the built in binaural microphones and the quality really surprised me. Recording at 24bit / 96khz is nice as...- philodox

Portable tube headphone amplifier
Mikhail from SinglePower also had a portable tube amp that he used to bring to audio shows, but I don't think they ever went in to production.- philodox

Steampunk Millett Hybrid
Very cool build. I especially like the volume 'knob', though I think I would have pointed it up and put it on top. :)- philodox

Symphones Magnum upgrade for Grado SR325 and Alessandro MS2
I've talked with Rhydon personally about this mod and I think those that have ordered will be pleasantly surprised. Though I haven't ordered a pair my self, I can't wait to hear them at the next Toronto meet... which, assuming I can get my act in gear, should be sooner than later.- philodox

Magic: The Gathering
I've got a bunch of cards to sell if I ever get around to going through them. Started playing when The Dark was released and stopped around the time of the Urza sets or a bit before... though I did start playing a couple times after that as well. So a bit of a strange mix of cards. I used to...- philodox

The Lavry DA11: For your ears only
Technical explanation aside, from a usability point of view I have to agree with Edwood on the switch. If you are using the DA10 or DA11 as a DAC only, then you are just setting the output level that your separate amplification will be then handling, so it is no issue... but if you are trying to...- philodox
