Picked up those KEFs. SOoooooo much better. Returning the Klipsch. I think I'm actually sticking with my first amp mentioned. It does a good job and isn't HUGE. Plus that big receiver has been cutting in and out a little. It also has some noise.

Those would certainly be more portable, haha. I got the KEF guy down to $150, though.

Long story short though...   The HD600s (with the fulla DAC/AMP) are so much better than any other phones I've tried IMHO.

A quick update.   Through a complicated order of events I have been able to extensively test the Philips X2s, the Beyerdynamic 770 Pros (250ohm), the Seinheiser Momentums, Bose QuietComfort 20s, and the HD600s. I plan on writing my amateur impressions of each headphone as soon as I get the time. 

  I'm leaning toward returning the X2s at this point. Even though they are tanfastic. The momentum's have the added capability of travel (though I most likely wont wear them out too often) and are more comfortable. They do have that closed sound though (which is why im tempted to give the hd...
