I got a few acoustic panels - Where should I put them?

Woah. This thread really took off. So to give you an update, I took some of the advice on page one and ran with it. After putting my couch closer to 1/3rd toward my sink, tilting the speakers a bit, and placing the foam on my cabinets near my sink slap noises are gone and close to the full...

Smack dab in the middle of the room on a couch.

I got a few acoustic panels - Where should I put them?

Hello all! I'm not looking for perfection, just some echo reduction. Here is my apartment. The green areas are the spots that are free to put the panels. The red are my speakers, the black is my tv. I think they will probably look best behind the TV but of course looks are secondary Thoughts...

I Got My New Speakers and an Amp -- Unsatisfied -- Thoughts?

Picked up those KEFs. SOoooooo much better. Returning the Klipsch. I think I'm actually sticking with my first amp mentioned. It does a good job and isn't HUGE. Plus that big receiver has been cutting in and out a little. It also has some noise.

I Got My New Speakers and an Amp -- Unsatisfied -- Thoughts?

Those would certainly be more portable, haha. I got the KEF guy down to $150, though.

I Got My New Speakers and an Amp -- Unsatisfied -- Thoughts?

I'm moving things around. Phono made it sound worse :-/ Think I should return the Klipsche and snag these? https://charlotte.craigslist.org/ele/d/kef-audio-c65-vintage/6404897603.html

I Got My New Speakers and an Amp -- Unsatisfied -- Thoughts?

Looks like I have some work to do tonight! Thanks for the tips. One thing that I didn't mention: If I plug my Sennheiser HD 600's into the receiver it sounds amazing, so I guess it's not the receiver's fault.

I Got My New Speakers and an Amp -- Unsatisfied -- Thoughts?

Thank you all so much for your feedback and suggestions! I ended up paying $80 for the Yamaha receiver R-700 It sounds significantly better but I'm still not satisfied. A few of you rather unhelpfully just criticized my expectations. I actually don't think they are too high. I know i haven't...

Speaker Wire To RCA Adapter? Thoughts on My Setup?

Hello all! I am new to the speaker game and was hoping you guys could help. I got a Audio Technica AT-LP60 turntable and have been using a SG-300 Racoon 110V amp (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/racoon-sg300-dac-tube-amp) in between my tv sound bar and the record player. I'm very much...

What Can I Get With My $350? (Considering Q701 and HD 650)

Long story short though...   The HD600s (with the fulla DAC/AMP) are so much better than any other phones I've tried IMHO.

What Can I Get With My $350? (Considering Q701 and HD 650)

A quick update.   Through a complicated order of events I have been able to extensively test the Philips X2s, the Beyerdynamic 770 Pros (250ohm), the Seinheiser Momentums, Bose QuietComfort 20s, and the HD600s. I plan on writing my amateur impressions of each headphone as soon as I get the time.

What Can I Get With My $350? (Considering Q701 and HD 650)

I'm leaning toward returning the X2s at this point. Even though they are tanfastic. The momentum's have the added capability of travel (though I most likely wont wear them out too often) and are more comfortable. They do have that closed sound though (which is why im tempted to give the hd...

Why would you return them for examination?   Does the itchiness go away?

What Can I Get With My $350? (Considering Q701 and HD 650)

UPDATE!   Long story short, I got my hands on some sennheiser momentums as the X2s were out of stock. Fantastic headphones. I love them. I couldn't avoid buying the X2s when they came back in stock though. So I bought a pair and a Schiit Fulla DAC/AMP. They are crisper, sound more put together...

What Can I Get With My $350? (Considering Q701 and HD 650)

Just my luck.   Amazon just ran out for the x2s today and wont get them back for a few weeks.    I can't find anyone else that sells that would let me return them if I don't like them.      I may just snag the HP50s if I can't find a pair. Also, if I snag the Hp50s, that means I have an...

What Can I Get With My $350? (Considering Q701 and HD 650)

Thanks for the extra push WCDchee.   I did in fact decide to snag the X2s and a dragonfly V1   If I don't like one or the other I will return them. For now, I am just really excited to receive them!!!   You guys have been a massive help. Thanks.   I'll let you know whether I fall in love...

What Can I Get With My $350? (Considering Q701 and HD 650)

Hmmm. Ok. Taking all of this in.    Last 3 questions I swear... I think.     I want to make sure I can really relax while listening, so I don't want something thats too punchy or too crisp. Are the HP50s that something or are they comfortable for long sessions and warm enough for...

What Can I Get With My $350? (Considering Q701 and HD 650)

I'd like to be able to walk around with the things, but if I'm going to be honest with myself, I don't think I'll ever move them from my desk, so the more I think about it, the more I don't care about the look. You said the X2s may sound better with an amp. Isn't the dragonfly sufficient? And...

What Can I Get With My $350? (Considering Q701 and HD 650)

So I think I'm gonna snag the X2s with the DragonFly 1. My worries are that the X2s will let in too much of the noise from my room thought (from my air filter) and that they may be too warm, but I guess I'll just have to see, because I have no place to try them out :(    At lower volumes, do...

What Can I Get With My $350? (Considering Q701 and HD 650)

So you think I should just not worry about an amp right now? Part of me kind of wants to get all of the right stuff and not worry about "upgrading" later.    I'm also still torn between the X2 and the HP50s. The X2s look way more comfortable for me, and I think I actually have more of a...

What Can I Get With My $350? (Considering Q701 and HD 650)

Perhaps it doesnt have more open sound music alchemist. You know more than I do haha. I just read it has great open sound that is the closest thing one user (IIRC it was innerfidelity) has ever heard to an open headphone.    So I would just plug something like the FiiO E10K into my usb port...
