    ZiiGaat IEMs discussion thread

Ok - went a little crazy and impulse-bought the Ziigaat Cincotres (sadly misspelled on the box as Cinocotres, but the IEMs themselves have the correct spelling). I've been listening to it off and on for several hours and comparing it with a few of my other sets to try to wrap my head around...

    The Kiwi ears Quintet Thread:

That's funny - I think the Quintet has deeper, punchier bass than the Bridge! So much of this boils down to the individual person's experience, it seems. Anyway - I don't want to be too faint in my praise for the Bridge. It has, by far, the widest soundstage of any IEM I own, and that's quite...

    The Kiwi ears Quintet Thread:

I think the Bridge is a step down in detail retrieval and naturalness. You get a bigger soundstage, but it is a bit exaggerated. Also - the Bridge has a LOT more treble out of the box. I think the out of the box experience makes it seem like it actually has more detail just because the treble is...

    The Kiwi ears Quintet Thread:

Letshuoer Galileo has a very similar tuning to the Quintet (but with some treble rolloff that makes it more forgiving of bad recordings). Resolution isn't as good, but the timbre is very natural. It's smaller and has no ridges. Very comfortable. Raptgo Bridge (with the E filters and switch 1...

    The Kiwi ears Quintet Thread:

To my ears there is an extremely slight metallic edge to things. It is, as I say, extremely slight. Hardly enough to mention. The Etymotic Evo has a slight plastic-y sound to the treble, but is still considered (I think by nearly everyone) to have excellent tuning. I think it's just a facet of...

    The Kiwi ears Quintet Thread:

Mine came in today. Anyone want any comparisons (especially for particular tracks)? I think they're better than the S12, which is very high praise for me. They sound, to me, kinda like the Letshuoer Galileo but with less treble roll-off and more resolution. In other words - amazing. I know -...

    Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread

I listened to it for a good long while last night. My preference is for bright/airy/analytical sets, but for a warm IEM - I think it does really well. Probably my favorite of the warmer sets I own.

This matches my experience with them exactly. One of the things I really enjoy about recorded music is being able to hear all those treble microdetails, so the AS16 Pro isn't going to be my daily driver, but they sound really good, especially for the money. KZ is really on a roll lately (DQ6...

Linsoul x 7HZ x Crinacle Salnotes Dioko Product Launch

I got mine in today and it looks like it suffers from the "wrong filter" issue. The amount of treble is absolutely overwhelming. Far more than even the KZ DQ6 (with the treble peaks and all). I sent an email to Linsoul support, so hopefully I can get it fixed. In the meantime - does anyone...

    Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread

Agree 100%. This is what I don't understand about the big "controversy" - they sound the way they do. They cost what they do. Do I really care about what EXACTLY is in the shells and how it works? Nope. I still have a VERY hard time finding a better rec in the $35 range. Deceptive marketing -...

Tripowin x HBB: Mele/Olina - Discussion Thread - Olina OUT now

Exactly. But way better. BLON BL-03 costs $30. Then add in a cable that won't pull them out of your ears - $10-15. And tips that seal correctly - $5-10. And a case - $3-5. So you're looking at $48 to $60 to be able to actually use them, but you still have to put up with the odd fitment and...

Tripowin x HBB: Mele/Olina - Discussion Thread - Olina OUT now

Reading back through this thread, I saw a good bit of back and forth on the MELE vs GK10, with Darkgod5 doing an eq'd comparison. Just throwing my 2c in there: I'm not a big fan of using EQ, mainly because I like to use lots of different IEMs and it's a hassle for me. Plus I'd rather spend the...

Ok - quick non-scientific comparison. Tracks: Sonata 1 in F Major (Yo-Yo Ma and Emmanuel Ax) My Way, Soon (Greta Van Fleet) Last Words (GoGo Penguin) Funky Gospel (Jeff Lorber Fusion) Holy City (Joan as Policewoman) Wonderland (Caravan Palace) All tracks were streamed from Qobuz lossless (and...

    ThieAudio Signature Series Tribrid IEMs

I have the Monarch and there's no way I would add an impedance adapter to it. Levels of bass is quite satisfying, especially electronic music. The Weeknd "Scared to Live" feels like the depth of the bass just keeps dropping. Like the best subwoofer I've ever heard.
