I bought the RS250 as a replacement of a new Node and Qutest combo. I am very happy with it as a Roon endpoint. Sounds fantastic.

Besides missing balanced cable, is it otherwise complete? The case, box, etc.

I got my X's back from a right driver repair. Support was great. My question: They sound different. Am I imagining that? I wore mine almost daily since Jan '15. I swear these are different headphones. I must assume that the drivers are different than before.

It is. I am thinking about going SimLab as I just got my DD1 and the RS1 flexes a bit.

So if I have a short .8m usb run between my Aries G1 streamer and Mytek Brooklyn I could benefit from adding this within the chain.? It’s hard for me to believe what’s leaving the Aries is crap and needs fixing. If someone says different I might try it but it’s difficult to get head around this...

Not me. I have both. Versatility goes to Mytek. RME does a better in upper treble response (tad less glare). They are both amazing and I am keeping both but if I only had digital sources I’d exclusively use the RME.

Excellent DAC. The hype on its performance is warranted. Even if I end up putting the Brooklyn back into the main system I’ll keep the rme. I think I like the non fatiguing sound of AK chip DACs a tad more than ESS based ones.

Sure. VPI Classic Soundsmith Zephyr MKIII Behind the cabinet door sits the Sutherland Insight phono preamp I run that into Mytek Brooklyn DAC+ ( testing the RME right now )

Yes the adapter works well for power hungry phones.
