I personally would not give a dime to IMR/Trinity/bob, whoever is running the show there. Save your $ and pick up the FDX1 (if that's your top 2) - I'm debating them myself because I love JVC Japan only products. I think the wood series are more bassy, but I haven't heard the FD-01 or the FDX1...

I have the FX850s (+ 700s which I owned and loved!) and they are my favorite IEMs. The warmth and timbre that JVC Woodies put out is so lovely to my ears :) nothing sounds quite like those wood drivers. Almost want to buy another pair (or upgrade to the 1100/1200 or *maybe* the newest FW01)...
