Really? Nah, not IMHO. The NDH 30 is a good headphone but in no surpasses the hd650 according to my ears. The NDH 30 has a bent towards studio use whereas the 650 is more tuned for musical enjoyment. I guess we all have different expectation and opinions.

Going fully balanced on a desktop amp will yield good results with this headphone.

I tried EQ with the 650 a few times along the years. And I've always ended up back to stock. The same for mods. IMHO, the best thing to do for these headphones is to put them with a good tube amp and listen to them shine.

Sadly, letting go of the hd800s that I just got. They have only about 6 hours of use on them (at most). serial#68xxx. They come like new in the box with both cables plus a nice heavy copper braided cable that is 6.5 ft. and terminated to 4pin xlr. Conus only. I cover shipping and buyer covers...

I almost pulled the trigger on this a month ago but decided to wait. Can I ask what the material is? Is it that hard plastic from 3d printers or softer?
