I have my Roon Core on an Asustor NAS. It has NVME and also 2 HDD bays. So I have the roon core on the NVME and the backups on the HDD bays. I also backup my mac and phone stuff to the HDD bays too.

Resin / stabilized units cost more. Also that model is a magnesium chassis and not aluminium. That also costs more.

Even though I'm not buying anything from this drop I still went to each model and decided what would've been my 1st and 2nd choices. And then now it hurts to see that some of my number 1 choices are still available....

Really tempted to nab one! Love the small footprint. Would be awesome for the office. But just bought a Bokeh Open. So its gonna have to wait a month or two.

Sorry you’re running into that issue. Noise can be an annoying thing to track down. It’s definitely not normal, as my Aegis is dead quiet. Even with the volume turned all the way up there’s no noise. You said that if the Aegis is on by itself that there’s no noise? If so I would check and see...

As far as I know, you have to send it in to Schiit to upgrade to the + chassis https://www.schiit.com/products/yggdrasil-upgrade

Jason did mention in the Schitt Happened thread that you can swap the cards back if you so chose. Though he said he thinks that most won't because Singular is that much better.
