Sony MDR-1000x - earpad replacement & mod
I have made some modifications to my pair of WH-1000xm2. My first impression was they sounded a bit veiled and uncomfortable (my earlobe was touching this foam covering speaker). Unfortunately I did not take any pictures. I have completly removed stock filling which was much higher than the...- masolski

Stax SR-L300 Impressions Thread
Let me ask the question here although it is a tiny bit off topic. I've just started to DIY my L300 pada but also remember that Stax are dust sensitive. Can I make my pads out of velvet? Original are only leather which are free from small particles that can be attracted by staticaly charged...- masolski

Stax SR-L300 Impressions Thread
That's an interesting input, Music Alchemist. I'm starting to enjoy my L300 even more (and more) every day! I've come across to Tyll's impression on L300. He says: "Presence region is nicely balanced, and treble tonality seems good, but for a slightly hot mid-treble and a somewhat more...- masolski

Stax SR-L300 Impressions Thread
I was impressed by HD600 sound signature. Balance is perfect there. I loved HD600 (sold them but now I regret). First impression - L300 are brighter but then you realize that it's actually the air which L300 is able to reproduce. I guess now HD600 would sound a bit veiled to me with smaller...- masolski

Stax SR-L300 Impressions Thread
I was going through this thread for a good week or so. Finally my Stax 3100 system is here and I'm happy to share my initial impressions on this system. This is actually an upgrade of my HD600 which I was very happy about. I had a chance to give Audeze LCD-X a try for a few days also. I must...- masolski

Stax SRM 252s and DAC's variable output
Just wanted to make sure it's fine to hook up IFI Audio DSD nano LE variable RCA output to Stax SRM 252s. I'm expecting my 3100 system this week and don't want to mess it up :)- masolski

In my case the very first moment I plugged LCD-X it was dissapoiniting. It was like they needed some burn-in time. After few days I experienced huge improvment on sound quality but it didn't steal my heart, either. I loved mids, voices but couldn't get use to overwhelming bass and weight...- masolski

Stax SRS-3100 or LCD-X
Thanks a lot! I usually have quite long listening sessions and it's also about comfort. STAX are much lighter. Two more questions for L300 owner :) Did you have any issues with dust? Apparently it can be a problem for electrostats. Did you need to change pads or get spacers? I've read that for...- masolski

Stax SRS-3100 or LCD-X
Hello folks! What would you recommend for a jazz lover. I used to have HD600 with ifi nano DSD but now upgrading. Basically I can get Stax SRS-3100 system or LCD-X for very similar price. I would need to get decent DAC/AMP combo for LCD-X which would make it more expensive. Which one offers...- masolski
