HiBy Digital M300 Android Digital Audio Player,"The Gen-Z Music Player" - Discussion thread

Just purchased the M300. Apologies if this has been answered but I'm not going to scroll through and read pages of comments just incase. I take it the M300 doesn't do the normal variation regarding bitrate/sample rates of your native files and formats? A standard 44kHz 16bit flac rip to a...

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

In your opinion. Some swear 4.4 "sounds better" but it never has to me. I'd be willling to bet they (you) wouldn't be able to tell any difference, consistently, in a blind A/B either. I'm more than happy with the sound and power out of the 3.5 thanks.

Why are you telling me to try 4.4? That isn't true regarding Airplay. Not on the r3 ii, maybe you're on about a different device... There is no drop down menu to select anything, just a QR code when you're in the AirPlay setting. Feel free to show pictures/video of it working as you say. It's...

No AirPlay on the A55, just bluetooth but I only used wired anyway. If I used wiireless tech I would just stick with a smartphone over a DAP for music but each to their own. For the Hiby I've only used the 3.5 so far. The AirPlay is a bit odd. You have to scan QR codes and use other devices...

I think the A55 is overall the better package. In terms of just sound both are good. Unfortunately I have found that the Hiby doesn't do gapless properly, even with FLAC files. Was just trying out some gapless albums and the Hiby isn't dealing with them smoothly. For those that don't know, Hiby...

HiBy R3 II--new and improved: physical volume knob, 4.4mm balanced out, increased power

I now have the Hiby and there is no audible hiss/noise floor to my ears with my specific equipment. Also, contrary to reviews stating otherwise, Hiby software still does not do gapless playback with AIFF/AIF files/format. Did more testing/listening and "gapless" isn't working with FLAC files...

HiBy R3 II--new and improved: physical volume knob, 4.4mm balanced out, increased power

I am talking mostly about the noise floor/hiss that is audible when no music is playing. So when you have the device turned on with no music playing and your IEMs plugged in you hear it. Most recordings I have ever heard have some level of noise floor/background hiss, some more than others. The...

Early days with the Hiby but in terms of sound I do like it. No audible hiss so is superior to the A55 in this respect. Hiby UI/Software I am not so fond of. The A55 has comfortably the better software/UI. Smoother and faster, though the Hiby does boot up faster. The screens are also no...

Good condition and barely used. Not even 30 hours. I haven’t really grown to like or use them. Prefer IEMs. There is some cosmetic damage, as seen in the picture, to the right outside mesh. The black paint scratched off a bit. Other than that the condition is mint. Comes with original box and...

I'll be doing that exact comparison in the next week or two. Just waiting for delivery of the Hiby.

@Redcarmoose You seem quite brand defensive there, I wouldn't take objective statements as criticism or personally. The A55 and others are up to 45 hours so not 1/3 more battery life, more than double. I have the A55 and it definitely doesn't take anywhere near 4 hours to charge, not with any...

It is a shame that this doesn't come close to rivalling their Sony equivalents (A45, A55, A306) in battery life. 20 hours is decent but I think these types of player should be at least 30 hours, especially if you only use it for local playback on wired headphones with no bluetooth and wifi...

HiBy R3 II--new and improved: physical volume knob, 4.4mm balanced out, increased power

Hiby representative. Can you confirm what formats t5he lastest Hiby OS support for gapless playback? From my own tests gapless does not work on Hiby OS with AIFF/AIF but it does with FLAC. I am not sure about WAV and other formats. I am not sure if your latest OS on your latest player would be...

The Sony A55 also produces an audible hiss, with not particularly sensitive IEMs. Other than that it is a great little player. Intrigued to hear the hiss level on the r3 gen 2 for myself as I have heard conflicting reports via online reviews, with the exact same IEM (Andromeda 2020). One said...

Hiby R3 Pro Portable Bluetooth DAP

Is that a Fiio cable? How did you get it to fit the IE600? When I tried my FH3 cable with the IE600 it didn't fit. Looks like you've removed the red and blue bits though so maybe that answers my question.
