How do these compare in terms of genre bandwidth to the k550s?

Yeh pretty much exactly what blikkem said. If i don't have to i try not to put them in the case at all because after you coil them up, it takes such an effort to manually straighten them. That being said, they look and feel bombproof which i guess is always a plus.

Well, i ask the question, if the higher end grado stuff didn't have the aluminium or metal cups and just used the sr60 or sr80 design, would people still buy them?

You could try the he400s, people might disagree with me but I think they're rather great with EDM or anything that really likes a headphone with fast transients.

I've seen people use ath-a700s, while they were on the train or just walking round in the street. How they've managed with the long cable and the whole AT headband system is beyond me though :P.

Just a quick update. Big shoutout to Qingting from customer service for taking care of the shipping cost thing. Agreed to refund the shipping and throw in a free travel case to boot :).

I'm one the people in the defective driver boat and sent my he400's back for replacement under the impression that they would cover the return shipping cost. They're now saying that it's company policy not to reimburse this cost... Just wondering if this is what they've said/done to any of you...
