Astell & Kern SR15: A&norma Impressions & Reviews
DACs used were Schiit Wyrd + Gungnir gen5 USB, Schiit Modi Multibit, Schiit Fulla2, and Mojo. Bluetooth sounds bad but if you can use network receiver like raspberry pi with Volumio, you can stream from SR15 via wifi.- Licht

Astell & Kern SR15: A&norma Impressions & Reviews
USB compatibility of SR15 using audioquest Dragontail OTG adapter, both in and out is very bad in my experience. I compared it to SA700, AP80Pro, iPhone. It works in some DACs, but some DAC recognizes but doesn’t sound, some DAC works if you half pull out the connector. And what is really bad...- Licht

Astell&Kern SA700 - Past meets Present
That should be just same as the rated spec. You can calculate to watts if necessary.- Licht

Schiit Yggdrasil Impressions thread
Yggdrasil OG is fully Multibit DAC but not 100% R2R. Go and see datasheet of AD5791. It is hybrid of R2R (14bits) and string DAC (6bits), which are both Multibit but having different architecture. String DAC is complicated but better than R2R? LiM and MiL are full R2R if my understanding is correct.- Licht

Schiit Freya Impressions and Tube Rolling Thread
Burn-in clears it a little bit, but in my opinion JJ has really colored tuby sound, it might be good or bad depending on your preference and system synergy though. Tung-Sol sounds clear and I love them.- Licht

The Sennheiser HD580 Impressions Thread
Thanks. I always thought that metal sliders? were much more stretched out on HD580 compared to HD650 (very old one). But thinking that due to larger radius (smaller bent, probably I bent looser?) on HD580 headband. And your phots looks just like mine and surprised to know that the length seems...- Licht

Final Audio Design Impressions and Discussion Thread
final is saying that black and clear sounds different due to some material for coloring added in black ones. Probably you can find it somewhere on the web. I don’t remember what they said precisely about the sound but in my vague memory it was bass volume due to different contact to your ear canal.- Licht

Dan Clark Audio Stealth Review, Interview, Measurements
I don't have Stealth, but have Ether2. Many people says it lacks dynamics and compressed, but to me it is not. But, yes, I sometimes feels Ether2 (original pad) too modest, or slightly lacking of presence/treble region, or you can say it bit boring, and I think that is what many people say...- Licht

Dan Clark Audio Stealth Review, Interview, Measurements
Yeah, metal is the most similar genre to modern/contemporary classical music. I can't bear listening to some types of classical rock, but metal (especially progressive metal?) feels just really familiar to me who grown up with classical music including playing flute in amateur orchestra. Heavy...- Licht

Astell & Kern SR15: A&norma Impressions & Reviews
From the spec sheet, R5 Sabre outputs 1040mW@16ohms, and around 30mW for SR15 in 16ohms, so, power wise, quite different in 16ohms. Could be more different or less but still must be big difference in 10ohms. However, both shall play LOUD, and sound wise, you have to audition to know if it sounds...- Licht

Astell & Kern SR15: A&norma Impressions & Reviews
No, I think it is wrong. Your calculation is just theoretical output calculation for 2V and 4V to 32ohms, but actual current hits limit in low ohms and voltage gets down. V=IR I = V/R = 2.0/32 = 0.0625A (or 62.5mA) W =IV = I*I*R = 0.0625 * 0.0625 * 32 = 0.125W = 125mW (your calculation) This is...- Licht

That is for infinite impedance. It significantly drops in low ohms such as 16 ohms.- Licht

AP80 - Hidizs next portable Hi-Res music player
Every digital transport makes difference in sound. It depends on gear. In my opinion, digital out of AP80 Pro Copper using audioquest Dragontail is not bad but my 8 years old MacBook Pro retina sounds way better to me as a digital transport. A&K SA700 sounds better than AP80ProCP as well both...- Licht

Final Audio Design Impressions and Discussion Thread
I have FI-BA-SS and have auditioned A8000 at the final HQ. A8000 is ultimate clarity/transparency and positioning. Just as what final say “Transparent sound”. To my surprise, FI-BA-SS felt dull compared to A8000.- Licht

Schiit Mjolnir 2 Listening Impressions
Yes I agree. SE sound more stronger center to me, while BAL better separation and holographic sound, and way better defined bass. If you prefer more in-your-face vocal presentation, SE might be better. I prefer the better separation and controlled bass so only using XLR if possible. Only rough...- Licht
