that's cool, but you're throwin some shade man. i read all about him prior to ordering via ebay, but he must take that account seriously because they showed up in less than a week. i'm happy with the cable, i ordered a ton of different adapters and such before i just decided to order the cable...

just had a listen to the dt990's vs 880's and the t90's all together. (nickel creek hq flac, mahler symph. 1 dsd64)  wow, i don't necessarily believe in burn in, but maybe that was the case, because my t90's sounded so much "cleaner" than those two. i straight up do not like the 990's at all...

thanks for the replies. I really should have known this, i was more or less wondering if tubes had any effect. anyways, it turned out to be the recording itself. (conor oberst - ruminations) it was intentionally lo-fi sounding. ( i even bought the 192/24 )

i wish there was a chat to ask this novice question, but can an Amp (desktop unit, or otherwise) turn down the noise heard from, say, a, x5ii or x3ii? or is it all in the dac?

fyi. they were $229 when i bought them on ebay (brand new, with usa warranty). I'd think twice about purchasing on amazon.   edit: appears they're $239 now, but...
