    Review: Violectric V800 DAC

"really i don't get it, the V800 is little more real sounding, got clearer soundstage, highs and overall sound is more relaxed, and there is a bit more micro-detail.."   Seems worth the expense to me??????? :-)

    Anedio D2 DAC release

Project 86 said: "I actually think it's (Anedio D2), quite nice looking. Not quite as much as the D1 was, but D2 is probably more "universal" in appeal versus the love-or-hate aesthetic of the original."     I agree, Project...I think that the D2 is quite smart looking....The D1 was a little...

    Review: Violectric V800 DAC

Roscodan, thanks for thoughtful reply. I think I actually understood most of that! (oh..I did not mention that I use Amarra Sonic Studio attached to my iTunes set up with the equalizer for my Audeze LCD-2's...it's a nice sound improvement for me).  In fantasy world...I would like to be able to...

    Review: Violectric V800 DAC

I am a little slow on the uptake with this....Question...if I do not have any High Rez content (most of what I listen too on my V800 are files from my CD's), is there any sonic advantage to upgrading the board in my V800? (I am currently using an iMac with a USB connection to the Violectric...

    Review: Violectric V800 DAC

I really do not know that much about the engineering of sound. ..but a couple of years ago, I did a lot of reading , gulped hard and bought a Violetric V200 & V800 (attached photo I created of my units) and then gulped harder and ordered a set of LCD-2's. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with...

    Review: Violectric V800 DAC

Thanks Project86.... I thought I remembered some chatter about retro-fitting...but I was not sure...For the time being I am going to wait and see how this develops...I want to see what people think of the USB upgrade when the new V800 is released...then maybe I will pester Fried. :-)

    Review: Violectric V800 DAC

Hi all... I remember that I think someone mentioned a while back that we may be able to send our V800's for refitting the USB upgrade...is that still on the plate??? I would of course like to wait and read a review to see if there is a significant improv ant in the sound quality...... Thanks.

    Review: Violectric V800 DAC

Rosko...thanks for that suggestion in 1. above..I never listened to my Violectric stack via having them connected with RCA cables....so I will try doing that and switching back to my balanced connections and see if I am able to perceive a sonic difference...

    Review: Violectric V800 DAC

Project 86.. Sorry...I may not have been clear (as I have difficulty grasping the hardware and electrical theory here)..my comment is in reference to Fried's discussion of a USB 24/192 solution that is currently in the works at Violectric.

Sling5s, I am with you ......Volume Pots is not my native language...I appreciate Roskodan's input...but...Rosko..think Volume Pot's for Dummies. LOL!..I have both the V200 and V800 and love them. Photo  that I took of my stack here if anyone is interested...

    Review: Violectric V800 DAC

Spkrs01...can you explain this in more detail?... "For me lifting grounds on both the V200/800 and the low pass filter on the V200 volume pot made the most significant improvements sonically...."

    Review: Violectric V800 DAC

I live in NJ and I remember that my V200 & V800 arrived stunningly fast...as in a couple of days. The import-fee bill from UPS also came shortly thereafter...LOL!...If Violectic has the unit in stock...I think you will have it shortly....GREAT company to do business with. It was a very positive...

    Review: Violectric V800 DAC

Sling..I live in the USA...and I found that when I priced the V200 and V800 out around the web that buying directly from Violectric offered me considerable savings, on the units and shipping. Great products!

    Review: Violectric V800 DAC

Sling5s...check out some of the recent posts above...Fried from Violectric stated "Concerning USB 24/192 we are working on a solution and want to be ready for the Hi-End exhibition in May in Munich."...he also talks about current owners perhaps having the opportunity to send in their current...

fradoca..you have to push the resampling button and hold it in for the lights to go out. If you push the resampling button quickly and release it just changes your resampling rate.
