What's the reason for this headphone clipping? (video)
Thanks for the response. I showed as much info as I could because otherwise there would be little purpose in asking people. I show the Windows volume in the video, it is relatively low. If I swap the volume, low in Spotify, higher in Windows, it does the same thing at the same volume level. The...- housecat

What's the reason for this headphone clipping? (video)
This is the only set of headphones that I've ever used that does this. It's the Koss BT539iW. A $100 Bluetooth headphone with 3.5mm. I'm using this with an Asus motherboard which has a lightweight amplifier built in and software equalizer, using the 3.5mm. It doesn't do this with my KSC35 or...- housecat

Koss Porta Pro Wireless Review
That might be my review on Amazon.. I had the 221is, they are not the same drivers. They're terrible all around, and I had problems with my pair connecting to BT. For BT at home as a longtime Koss fan, I'd go PortaPro Wireless or bust. Beats are going to be superior in a lot of ways for BT, but...- housecat

Koss Porta Pro Wireless Review
These may be my replacement for my Koss BT539iw, which aren't very good but I wanted to go wireless and never looked back. Being as my KSC35s are my favorite headphones overall of all time, I'm sure I'll be picking these up. I'm looking at a loadout of Koss BT221i for workouts (cheap and...- housecat

New Koss UR42i!
These actually look really good for on the go. I'm always on the plane taking our bi-yearly vacation and split 1 earphone from my KSC-35, one for me, one for her. It works in a pinch but this is much better without resorting to carrying a splitter around. The mic and remote are excellent to add...- housecat

Philips Fidelio X2?!
Don't worry about it, especially if you keep finding yourself confused often. Enjoy your X2s and sorry about your feelings.- housecat

Philips Fidelio X2?!
Got my X2s from Amazon. Sound quality is borderline garbage for headphones of this caliber. What a letdown. I'm returning these to Amazon. Going back to and prefer my Koss PortaPros. The bang for buck People's Champ at <$200 unamped 30 years and running. Really disappointed everytime I find...- housecat

Best headphones for ~$300, with a Koss 60ohm sound signature or similar
Philips X2? HD650? What do you guys think? I have my eye on the X2 in particular. I never cared for maybe the Senn sound but the HD650s can be had on sale for $300 and may be the way to go regardless of not being as punchy as the sound of Koss.- housecat

Where does the median price/perf curve fall off for both headphones and amps?
I've always lurked and posted here occasionally for all things audio and am pretty happy with my Koss UR40s at my desk in general. I like the sound, quality and comfort. For unamped headphones I'm a 60ohm Koss fanboy and use them for everything from my iPod while exercising (KSC35) and always...- housecat

Can I do better, unamped, than Koss UR40 around the same price?
I've had my UR40s since 2011 and I love them. I'm a Koss 60ohm fanboy. I've had a positive experience with Koss since I got my first pair in the 80s or early 90s. Just wondering what else is out there. I've tried a few other things (see sig) but never found anything unamped for this price that...- housecat

My Zune sounds better than my PC.
I'm not a big fan of Creative driver support, nor their products. I've had bad luck, things like that static burst you speak of and worse. I'm done with creative myself, used them from the 80s till the late 90s. I use onboard as well though, but its Intel Azalia (DFI Karajan module). I like...- housecat

The Koss Spark Plug
All bass, and horrid highs and mids. And I prefer very strong, subwoofer-style bass. But it still needs to sound halfway nice. These dont.- housecat

Favorite canalphone of the moment
I work in an office around a large manufacturing environment and we have about 10 different kinds of plugs. I'm going to try some on these. :P- housecat

Pro3AA Vs. UR40?
I'm looking for something for gaming and maybe something a bit more isolating for library reading. I'm told the UR40s isolate well, is this true? Amazon has their description as "closed" headphones and it appears to be a description from Koss themselves. When I really crank the 35s, they...- housecat
