Go to Start> type "device manager" in the "Search programs and files". Double click on the "Sound, video and game controller".   You should see three unknown devices. After "updating" the drivers you shoud see this.   ATI High Definition Audio Device Prodigy HD2 Prodigy HD2 Controller...

Hard to beat the Audio Engine A2's for sound quality in a small package in their price range.  

What power supply do you have ??? Antec, Corsair, Fortron, OCZ, PC Power and Cooliing, Thermaltake ??? Knowing what piece of hardware you are talking about would get more detailed help.   Hard to recommend a solution without knowing what animal we are talking about.

Maybe below 500.00 dollars. Or so it would seem.

One thing nice about the 500gig Black drives Dircectron has. They are the single platter models. Supposed to be hard to find...I would not know since I live in Houston and buy a lion's share the stuff I buy there. Will bench 2 of the 500's in RAID-0 tomorrow and compare them to the 2 WD...

Fry's has the Velodyne VX-10 about every 6 weeks for 129.00 bones...Not a bad choice if you are on a budget. Hard to beat for 140.00 duckies out the door. In my humble opinion of course !!!!!!

I have the A5's connected to a Velodyne VX-10 run by AudioTrak Prodigy HD2...Sounds good to me for sure. I also have a pair of Mackie MR5's...You might take a look at those. Never heard of this joint but they have some "B" stock MR5's for 119.00 each...So 238.00 for the pair...

Some different connectivity options you might want to consider. Some sub's have line-in/line-out connectivity and usually have a crossover...Some adjustable and some fixed that keep the low frequency sound from reaching your speakers. Couple of things here...A 5" or 3 1/2" woofer is not...
