I had this Dac and ended up sending it back. It lacked volume and bass for me. I changing it for the Oppo HA-2. Which I thought was much better. Also offers true DSD playback.   Might be worth a look.

  Yer that is what I thought. But I was not sure if it was "safe. Does double amping cause issues or is it more to do with the distortion in the music?   When I Line out... the bass boost is missing from it.

  Hi,   Balanced is not important to me. I'm looking for a good quality/sounding with a few options to be able to increase bass. Price wise... I can flex but don't want to be spending as much as what the Oppo 1 amp costs. Although that amp looks the bee's knees.
