The Ear Pads Thread (post questions or say what ear pads worked for you)

Does anyone know if the Alpha pads fit on the Sony MDR-1ABT's?? Kind of not needing them now but will get them when my stock ones need to be replaced. I def need some 'cooler' pads for the warmer days but my understanding is that they alter the sound too much. I guess I'll just use them for...

I haven't experienced any creaking or read about it either. I would replace them and get something to your liking for sure!     You know, I've seen guys at my gym with some over the ear head phones and I'm just amazing that their ears don't melt off their heads, lol!! There is...

    Sony MDR1-ABT Impressions

I ended up getting the 1ABT's when I read here in this thread that the sound of the 1ABT's were very close to wired. It also helped that I got them for a little under the same price as the 1A's, lol! I LOVE the sound of these 1ABT's!! ....and yes, the 1A's (wired version) are def heavier on...

+1 on the Momentum 2's!     When I was auditioning headsets at B&H store here in NYC, I came across the Momentum 2's (wired) and I ALMOST bought them because they sounded excellent to my untrained ears! When I came across the 1A's though, I immediately liked them over the Momentum's because...

Thanks for the info everyone! Good to know that my mdr-1abt are capable of even better sound if I choose to listen to higher res music with a capable LDAC device.

Thanks for the info and I agree with your last sentence. My MDR-1ABT's sound great with my LG G4 with Apt-X!

Most of my music is 320kbps. Would I notice a difference from AptX to LDAC?

sony mdr 1a- should i use for working out?

No I haven't. As a matter of fact, I haven't been using them on my commute to work because they make my ears way too hot now that the temps are high. I keep hearing too many bad things about velour pads killing the sound of most cans which is why I haven't bothered getting any. I'll keep...

Thats good to know! Thanks!   I've been very happy with how these headphones sound! AptX def is the difference maker here for wireless SQ. I was actually considering an LDAC device down the road to compliment my MDR-1ABT's but the more I read online and now your experience on the matter...

Agreed!    I get about a months worth of play on mine.....1.5 hours daily commute to work....around 20 days of play exact.   The bass on mine are great for my listening habits. Def NOT bass heavy for sure! No vibrations.   I use my LG G4 with my MDR-1ABT's.   Thanks for the info...

I have Tinnitus from going to a VERY LOUD club here in NYC to check out Steve Lawler back in 2010. If you like loudness, I would seriously suggest you ease up on it or else you'll end up in my shoes. It sucks, trust me!

I LOVE my MDR-1ABT! Fantastic sound through bluetooth! I have an LG G4 with supports aptX but I'm hoping one day to purchase a Sony device with LDAC support so I can take advantage of the higher res codec which from what others here in these forums have stated is a noticeable difference. I...
