Anything similar from Sennhieser , akg, Sony, AT ? Would Superlux 681 Evo have more bass than the Philips?

What would be like Philips SHP9600 but with more bass ?

I got new Philips Shp9600. I am ok with most of the sound qualities except the bass - it’s a bit light. I am not a bass head but I do like a fuller sound. I don’t like bass bleeding through to low-mids and muddying things up. So what other headphones could I consider ? What are my options ...

    Fiio A3 vs ?

Looking for an amp ~$100. What else out there would be better the A3 ? I will most likely be using with basic 32phm headphones like apple earpods and koss/senn. What about the Sabaj PHA2 ? I like the chip in it but its not clear how good the amp is. There's not much talk about it here. Also, I...

    SPDIF -> Apple 30 pin - does such a connector/adapter exist ?

I have the Pure i-20 ipod dock and I feel the dac in it is pretty good so I was wondering if there was a way to use that as a regular dac for other sources ? the only input on the dock is the ipod 30pin connector. So one would need some kind of an adapter that converts from spdif to the apple 30...

    Pure i-20 dock - should ipod/iphone volume work ?

I have a Pure i-20 dock that I using with a 4th gen ipod touch and am still not clear whether I should expect the volume control slider on the device (ipod, iphone) to work or not. Because sometimes it does work like a normal volume control and sometimes it just doesn't. When I say it doesn't I...

Macbook Pro v/s Air - question about Line IN and DAC

Hi, I am considering purchasing a Macbook Air or Pro (current versions) and still deciding between the two. Something that would help me decide would be answers to the following questions -   Does the Air and Pro both have a "Stereo Line IN" option ? I am not asking about a Mic In. I am...

Dont like IEMs. Any 'earbuds' out there in the $25-30 range ?

And search for my recent posts I had created a thread with frequency response and distortion measurements of these headphones.

Dont like IEMs. Any 'earbuds' out there in the $25-30 range ?

They were ok but the mx581 are significantly better. I didn't like the emphasized mid bass of the Jvc, that's about the only thing I remember about them. Nothing about it too bad in the midrange or highs for $6.

    MX581 alternative earbud (not iem)

I have a pair of MX581 and they work great for me. I like the sound and more importantly they are a good fit in my ears (small). I have tried many other earbuds they become uncomfortable (too big) for me after just a few minutes of listening. Even the apple headphones that came with my 4th gen...

Frequency response and distortion measurements of 4 earbuds

I got all these headphones while searching for a good earbud. After listening to them I thought I'd measure them and see if my subjective impressions match with objective measurements or not.   First is just a basic frequency reponse comparison - JBL Tempo (Magenta) JVC 150 Gumy (Yellow)...

Is there a general 'headphone' cable ?

Thanks. I will check what is the thickness/diameter on those although I can get some idea about the relative size as compared to the pin, from the picture. but yeah if it works out thats exactly what I am looking for.   Senn makes a cable for HD222/414/424 that might work too, and also...

Is there a general 'headphone' cable ?

Doesn’t have to be ‘Y’ out of the box, all I need is just two parallel dual conductor or coax type cables stuck together (like zipcord or speaker wire). Then I can just pull the two parellels apart as much distance I want at the headphone end. Thanks for the Senn suggestion. Looks like they...

Is there a DAC that sounds better than the Ipod/Ipad line out ?

Quote: Do you mean the headphone amp ? or the line out opamp ? or both ? My original question pertains to the line out analog only.
