Denon AH-D1001 review
Got mine yesterday for €95 from ebay. Delighted with them so far. They work perfectly off my Intel Mac which is a blessing. How much runing in do they take? So far they sound a little thin, I'm assuming the mid range will beef up a bit after a few hours?- Frankie Lee

Closed back & lightweight please
Some interesting suggestions here lads, many thanks. Any opinions on the sound quality of the D1001 vs ATH-A700 vs T770? I like a nice warm sound. They'll be run off a mac tower via the Zhaolu d2.5 w. upgrades.- Frankie Lee

Closed back & lightweight please
Can't find 32ohm, only 250 and 80. What's the difference?- Frankie Lee

Closed back & lightweight please
I love my Senn 650's but I find them a bit heavy for when I'm working and the wife complains of the noise level when I turn them up. Any recommendations for something with a similar sound-balance that's lighter and with a closed-back? My budget is sub €150 so I'm not expecting the same caliber...- Frankie Lee

good sound from a PC - Sennheiser hd650 zero DAC
I have a Zhaolu 2.5 dac/amp and don't find it to be a huge improvement over the headphone socket in my Arcam AVR250 amp, so I'd certainly be tempted to try your Onkyo before you go spending money. The Zhaolu gives a pretty good sound from my macpro though, so it's handy in that regard.- Frankie Lee

Airport Express
I'm confused. Where's the optical out on the express? Mine only has ethernet, USB and a mini-jack. I looked at the new ones online, they seem to be the same.- Frankie Lee

HD650 break in
Just received mine. While the sound is obviously a bit shut-in initially, the thing that strikes me most is how tight they are. The head-band doesn't look very flexible, is it possible to bend it at all?- Frankie Lee

REVIEW: Trancendere Sweet-5 tube integrated amp/headphone amp with USB
I'm interested in this. Looks like it's well built and I'm in the market for something with a USB socket. It's also available here: Welcome to Audiophilechina- Frankie Lee

How do I get the best from my iPod?
Thanks guys. I had a look at Microshar, they seem to have a bewildering choice. And you reckon these will have a better output than a dock?- Frankie Lee

How do I get the best from my iPod?
I'm sure this is asked a lot, but I can't find any clear answers, so I thought I'd ask. Short of coughing up huge moola for the Wadia, how do I get decent sound from my 80gig iPod into my amp?. At the moment I'm using an old iPod dock but the sound is very thin and quiet. Should I look at the...- Frankie Lee

The GRADO SR-60 Impressions Thread
Thanks Lescanard. My Sr60s are fairly old (10 years at least) and the pads are flat and sit directly on the ear. I know they're designed like this, but it seems from images that the newer models have a raised perimeter so-to-speak that looks more comfortable. Is this the case? If so I might look...- Frankie Lee

The GRADO SR-60 Impressions Thread
I've had these phones for a long while now and while I love them I feel the need to upgrade. What sort of improvements can be made to them? I wouldn't mind softening the top-end a bit. Am I better just going for a pair of HD595s?- Frankie Lee

€250 upgrade - what to do
I listen to music mainly from two sources: My Intel mac and a Arcam receiver using a pair of Grado SR60s. Through the mac the sound is pretty good. A little too bright, but not too bad. The sound from the headphone socket on the receiver is pretty bad. Very dull and shut-in (no surprise)...- Frankie Lee
