Nobody else thought the audio in this episode slipped from previous episodes?

Is it just me, or did the audio suck on this episode?

I've never heard a pair of grados but based on the graphs / testimonials, it sounds like they would be colored to be brighter, which, for me, absolutely rapes a metal song. I can tolerate coloration downwards, but not upwards.

Conductive paint sounds like a good idea. What requirements are there to drive a dead short?

How are the grados good with death metal? I've heard on the forums that they color the mids upwards so guitars and such sound a lot more shrill and generally not-heavy.

Audio gear - use, reproducing audio recordings to sound as close to what the sound engineer intended as possible. Now that we've established what we should be using the item for, can we start engineering tests to measure how well it does that?
