iPhone 7 Will Revolutionize Portable Audio for the First Time in a Decade
Saw iFixit ripped apart the iPhone 7, the headphone jack is a barometer now. Would rather have a headphone jack, but the dongle seems to be ok with my listening tests. Silver lining, maybe the lightning jack w/ audio adapter is more durable long term than the headphone jack? Maybe we get...- exiton

iPhone 7 Will Revolutionize Portable Audio for the First Time in a Decade
Got my dongle. Works great with iOS 10 and my 6s. A quick listen sounds really good, lots better than Bluetooth audio and on par with the regular jack. The dongle is tiny, not sure how they got a dac in there. Long story short, there is hope!- exiton

Tiny DAC, Big Sound, Evolved – Stoner Acoustics UD100 / UD110 / UD120
Those are my experiences as well. Sometimes it will show up as a valid sound device and looks like everything is right (speaker-test starts without errors) then midway through it errors out. Maybe a new release of Rasbian will fix it some day.- exiton

Tiny DAC, Big Sound, Evolved – Stoner Acoustics UD100 / UD110 / UD120
Try the UD110 on the mac with a powered usb hub. Linux Update: I did get the UD110 to work successfully in Ubuntu 13.04 desktop edition. Still no luck getting it to work with Rasbian or Raspyfi. At least that makes me hopeful a future version will support it correctly. One of the devices...- exiton

Grado Fan Club!
It looks like the static is happening because of the y connection. It's so finicky that it could be the speaker connection joint too. I may have to get a blow dryer and open them up to check.- exiton

Grado Fan Club!
Anyone have a recommendation of some parts to recable a Grado sr80? I'm thinking more low-to-mid end. I just want to stop the sound cutting out one driver. I do have a solder gun. I searched around and found tutorials, just not recent and non-expensive parts lists. Thanks!- exiton

Tiny DAC, Big Sound, Evolved – Stoner Acoustics UD100 / UD110 / UD120
When someone else receives their UD110 and has a Linux box or Raspberry Pi, can you test it and see if it works? pi@Raspyfi:~$ speaker-test -c2 -D hw:0,0 speaker-test 1.0.25 Playback device is hw:0,0 Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 2 channels Using 16 octaves of pink noise Rate...- exiton

Tiny DAC, Big Sound, Evolved – Stoner Acoustics UD100 / UD110 / UD120
Got my UD100 in the mail today. It came in a regular letter envelope, so incredibly light and small. With the windows driver, shows 16 and 32 bit available (skips 24). Stoner said that with 16 bit it's volume can be controlled in windows, with 32 bit it's player software controlled. I...- exiton

Better external dac+amp than Essence STX
Look for a open box Z on Amazon as they dip to $70. Since you are using just the dsp, the emi shield isn't necessary. I have a second pair of headphones plugged into the Z and it does fairly well, so you might consider the emi shield for the future. .- exiton

How loud do headphones get direct into the ud110? Does in really need a dedicated amp?- exiton

Better external dac+amp than Essence STX
I've got an audio-gd 15.32 and a X-Fi Z. Perfect combo to maximize DSP (I like SBX better than dolby headphone) and then output to a good DAC/AMP.- exiton
