I just installed the HT Omega Claro because I wanted DDLive for digital transport to my receiver/5.1 speakers for gaming (Crysis). Just for fun I connected my HD 595 headphones to the front panel audio headphone out (supported by the card), and to my surprise it sounded as good as my EMU-0404 USB.

Wow! Your saying the SQ is better than the t9 and K3, and yet it is still missing something? What is it missing, keeping in mind that we are talking portable audio here?

That's a major negative for this new Samsung device. The new Zen has an SDHC slot. 8GB SDHC memory (6gen) can now be purchased for $60, and getting cheaper all the time. It's so much easier transfering music/video files on/off these cards rather than the internal memory on most of these...

Do these new Samsung models have a SDHC slot? I keep all my music and video files on 8GB SDHC cards so they can be used interchangeably on multiple devices (i.e. my Archos 605 WiFi flash model, Oppo DVD player, laptop, etc).

The main reason I ditched my Xfi for music was the harsh base-- so, I guess its all a matter of personal preferences. The 0404 USB produces a nice tight, smooth and very detailed base. The base from the Xfi was annoying to me, except in games and movies where I'm more focused on the sound...

I use the 0404 USB for music, and the Xfi for games, with no conflicts. It's simply a manual on/off switch from one device to the other-- really works cool I would think there would be no compatability issues if you're using the 0404PCI card, but you may not have the ease of switching from one...

K3 if you like the touch pad/screen as I do; otherwise the T9.
